Audio occasionally sounds like someone has someone has a finger on the turntable when playing a record. then even though the display indicates a program is on, audio drops out completely. if I turn off the receiver & turn it back on it comes back for awhile. happens especially when it's hot.

  • This really sounds like you are getting a bad signal for one reason or another. Sometimes it will sound like the signal is scrambled, cut in and out or seem like it is delayed or slow of sorts.
  1. This can be cause from a bad placement in the antenna.
  2. The antenna itself can be failing.
  3. The wire for the antenna is often ran through a door or window and from being kinked and pinched can negate the coax.
  4. Always make sure the antenna is pointing to the south
  5. Always make sure the antenna has a clear and open area to receive the be reception.
  • There are some things to try.
  • The first thing is you can try to "refresh" your connection.
  1. Turn your receiver to channel "0."
  2. You will see a code come across the screen.
  3. Now switch to channel "1."
  4. Now go to the XM websitehttp://www.siriusxm.com/
  5. Now log in. If you don't have an account then create one.
  6. When you log in go to the "Help & Support" area.
  7. Now click on "Refresh My Radio."
  8. Make sure the radio remains still and wait until the screen on your receiver says "Refreshed."
  9. You can also contact by phone XM/Sirius and they can assist you with this.
  • If all this does not help you may just need to get a new antenna. This can be purchased from the link I provided as well.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.
Regards, Tony

Even though i am playing my record on normal speed, it plays to fast

if your turntable doesn't have a pitch control (like the dj's turntables) if you open it you should find on the board close from the 45-33 rpm switch a variable resistor ( a small electronic part with a sort of disc on top with in the middle of it a place for a flat screw driver and marking like + and - those resistor are made to control the speed and can go bad or just need to be adjusted . First try to adjust it turning the dial really carefully with a small screw driver if nothing happened it could need to be replace.

I am not sure what computer system or operating system you are using. If you are using a PC with MS Windows try to go to the control panel from the start tab. Double click on the sounds and audio devices icon. Click on Advanced in the master volume box. If any mute boxes are checked, uncheck them and move the volume to the top. Try your system to see if you have any output. I hope this helps since I did not see any recommendations to check the master volume mixer.

I have a Technics Double Cassette Deck RS-TR212. On the rear it has Output and Input connections. Output goes off to the Amplifier. Can the Input be used to record or play from a record Turntable? I have...

your receiver has (or should have) input and output connections,, your turntable needs to be hooked to the receiver,, then with the output cables that feed your cassette player you need to go, in to out and out to in ( receiver output to the input of the tape player, and out of the tape player to the in on the receiver, while playing a record if you hit record on the tape player it will record the record, depending on the receiver it will show you the meter readings for either the in or out,, they vary

Volume

Your MD player probably isn't LP capable. Attempting to play an LP recorded MiniDisc in a player that is only SP capable will produce no sound even though the display (time counter, track name) looks like everything is operating properly. Record the MD you were attempting to play in SP and you will get sound.
