My Cartier Roadster does not keep time in my watch winder, all other brands work except this one. Any idea why, should the winder be set at clockwise, counter-clockwise, or bi-directional.

I believe the Roadster uses the 2892 movement and as such should wind in either direction. Find a competent watchmaker and ask him/her to check the automatic winding mechanism for proper rotation. I am assuming this is a real Cartier.

There were no directions with our Cote d' Azur watch. Where can we get any directions.

does your watch has a strap with N,E,S, W printed on it? Normally, it is located on the bottom side of your watch. If you tilt your watch, the direction will be pointed towards that direction. Consult Cote d\'Azur if you have that on your watch...

Shorten the band on a Mossimo watch

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
  • Place the watch face down on the cloth. This will help keep your watch from being scratched.

  • 2

Examine the links closest to the buckle. These links will have small pin holes on each side of the link, as well as a small arrow engraved on the inner side of the band. These indicate the direction the pins must be removed.

  • 3

Place the driving tool (a thumbtack will work) inside the pin hole in the band and push the pin out in the direction of the arrow. Remove the pin carefully from the other side.

  • 4

Repeat Step 3 to remove any links needed to adjust the band properly.

  • 5

Reattach the band to the buckle. Attach each end of the buckle back to the bracelet, driving the pin in the opposite direction from how it was removed (opposite the arrow).

  • Best regards. Jewel

I left my watch in the dark for a along period of time. The indicator shows low / I have been placing my watch on direct ligth so can charge for the last 4 days . Do i need to replace the battery CTL1616

If you left your watch in direct sunlight, there should be just 6-8 hours enough to recharge it. If there was no direct sunlight, it may take up to a week to revoke your watch. This corresponds only to watches powered by light. The energy cell in those watches is called capacitor, not battery. If you are not sure what type of cell your watch has, leave it for a few days more in bright lightened place and then see if it works. If it does not - replace the capacitor (or battery if your watch isn't powered by light). Rate me, plz.

    How to change the date

I am not familiar with this watch, but most watches with hands allow you to pull the stem outward. If you pull it out all the way, the watch stops running. If you pull it out ALMOST all the way, turning the stem in one direction changes the day and turning it in the other direction changes the date. If you have only the date on your watch, then the almost all the way out will probably control that. Don't know if that will work, but it can't hurt to try it.

    Dead

All you have to do is place the watch in direct sunlight for about 12-24 hours and it will be working perfectly again in no time at all. Make sure the light is shining directly onto the watch's face as that is what needs to absorb the solar power. You can just place it in a window sill that gets a lot of sunlight and let it charge all day.

If you appreciate me solving this for you then please rank this solution as "fixya" or at least "helpful", thanks!

    Changing the date

It should only go to one direction, you might have a memory with some other watch for going both direction otherwise the way the internal dial works for cartier it should only go to forward, some manufacturer make the dial moving both ways but for quality watches such as cartier it goes only to one direction.
