The printer is printing shadowed letters and showing faded print at the bottom of the pages.

Hi, The problem your having sounds like a Fuser . The Fuser will cause printed text to give a ghosting look down the page were it repeats itself.

Try to aline the printer head which you can find in printer property
or the new catrage me be an old stock

Seem like blocked hole(s) on the color print head...
Most likely if there is a deep clean option then do it (may need a few times to unblock a hole or never).
Also get the printer physically cleaned up if you can see dusts inside (vrtical lines on color bars).

I had the same problem. This is what worked for me: I went to the HP website and downloaded the hp Print Diagnostic Utility. Found the problem and fixed it in no time (device manager I believe)... worked beautifully. Hope this helps :-)

you need to take the scanner out (not very easy to do)unless you are a printer tech.
and clean the mirrors.
