With DMF function selected, focus can be manually changed after it has been once confirmed using camera's AF system. It is useful for Macro photography and Portrait photography. DMF cannot be used in continuous AF mode.

I would suggest that you take this to an honest Ford dealership to get this looked at. I am unsure what all needs to be done to get this sorted out.

How can I stop the metering on a Sony a77 Camera?

When you are using non brand lenses, with an adapter ring, most camera's can't communicate, so you have to use the lens as a non chip lens and it only will work in full manual mode. So switch the camera to M (manual) and then do manual focus and manual aperture on the lens. When you shoot a picture, look on the histogram if you need a faster or slower shutter speed and dial in the speed (manual) you think is correct.

The manual focus ring on my camera doesn't work. The ring turns but does not seem to adjust the focus. Automated focusing still works. How to fix it?

Two methods:-

1. Use the slider switch on the left of the camera to set it to MF (manual focus). The focus ring is an electronic one rather than a physical control like the zoom ring, so the response can seem slow.

2 Go into the camera menu and enable DMF (Direct Manual Focus). This allows you to override the autofocus simply by adjusting the focus control, but it does not work if the slider switch is set to the AF C setting (continuous autofocus), it only work in the AF-S (AF only activates once when the shutter is half pressed).
