I have downloaded aviation software (APIC) to my hp iapq rx5910. The software is in the memory, but I cannot get it to work on the ipaq. Sometime, depending on what I am looking at, I get a message telling to run the program first. I don't have a manual for the ipaq and don't have a clue how to run the program on the ipaq.Can you please help me solve this issue.

It appears the maps were last updated in 2007, so im guessing they have stopped supporting this model fully.

i would not buy another ipaq if someone gave me the money..the last two i bought (600.00 ea) both took a **** right after the warranty ran out....

Hi. While holding power button, and pressing reset will do a hard reset to your PDA (reset the device to its factory default settings). So if your PDA is working well, don't do it. As for the syncronization with your Vista PC; Winodws XP uses the ActiveSync software for syncronization, and for Windows Vista, Microsoft developed a brand new syncronization software called "Windows Mobile Device Center". It can be downloaded here: (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/device-center-download.mspx). When you download/install this software to your PC, you should be able to connect your PDA to your PC without any problem, and definitely without changing any OS in your PDA or PC. Hope this helps.

Not sure about the memory card way, active sync didn't work on mine either and from what I read it won't but my machine automatically sync'd on starting the sp29841 application file I downloaded from the HP site (the sync can take a while). Active sync didn't start to work again until it was restored through that (up to that the PC didn't recognise the ipaq as connected either). Hope you get it sorted.

i did a hard reset and now i have the same problem. i was working just fine before the hard reset, i wonder why i did that move. Don't do that if you think it's a solution.

You have the red-light of death.

This is caused by a dodgy microswitch.

As for your memory card, if it's still blank when you use your Ipaq thru the USB, you can easily recover using a program. I forget the name of the program I used, but it basically recovers the FAT.

You might not be able to read the memory card except in the Ipaq BTW, so try to fire up the Ipaq first.

1) Where can you purchase the memory? - you can buy them at many stores such as Walmart if you come from USA or Game if you come from South Africa.

2) How much can you put in? - Depending on the model of your Pocket Pc you can put up to 1gigabite but they usually come with only 64mb.

3) How to install it - You must first buy an HP expansion pack which you place on your Pocket Pc and you place the extra memory card in the expansion pack.

4) Where can you download software for it? - The memory card comes with the software installed already

Have you tried other SD cards?  The box is uncheck for default install folder?  Maybe update the device.
