I just got the panasonic 40gb hdd video camera and recently i got footage of my volleyball game for a project. i uploaded the videos onto my computer with the usb that came with it but when i play my videos there is no sound. it's playing sound on my video camera but why not my computer?
Update your video audio codes https://www.windows7codecs.com/
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=507
SOURCE: putting video footage on my computer
To get your footage into the computer from DV tape you need a four pin firewire (IEEE1493 or iLink) cable from the camera to a six pin cable into the computer. USB will not do a proper job, it's for downloding photos or as you already mentioned, Web caming.
SOURCE: cant upload videos on videocam suite
try not to open the pc suite instead plub in direct to your pc then from the my computer icon open up the camera or mass storage icon then from there copy paste into a new folder on pc ( now your files should be safe) from there you can either use the pc suite software to convert files to DVD or use NERO 9,or Cyberlink power dvd,or total video converter, unfortunatley all are pay software but do offer trials
however if you have FAST UNLIMITED broadband connection then you can do it for free by going to
http://www.online-convert.com/
and select MPeg 2
should do the trick
let me know how it goes.
good luck
