It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/PUMP MOTOR/DRAIN to work when it is commanded .If this does not happen then the voltage at these points must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage/drive from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

check these error codes.

http://fixitnow.com/wp/2010/09/01/bosch-dishwasher-test-programs-diagnostic-mode-and-error-codes/

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn around to inject with pressure. If so the pump must be checked for clogging.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

How to Reset an Asko Dishwasher
  1. Press the "Start/Stop" button.
  2. Hold the button for three seconds and release.
  3. Select the program and options on the front panel you want the dishwasher to use. Press "Start/Stop" to restart the dishwasher. You have now reset an Asko dishwasher.

LG Inverter Direct Drive dishwasher panel display has 3 illuminated dashes (---). Seems it has power, but won't start. Have waited an hour; dishwasher won't start and dashes won't go away.

I believe the time displays based on your selection. If you don't see any change when changing selection it may be a faulty touch panel.
Assuming you tried resetting the whole unit. Sounds like program error in the main board.

I have a bosch lifestyle dishwasher that keeps coming up e17...we have had plumbers around and there is no problem with pipes or water so what else can it be

You did not specify the model so I can only assume what means the alarm code E17 - probably water level too high - flow sensor.
The dishwasher has, for some reason detected an overfill and is reporting that through this error code. The flow sensor note is there as that can cause this fault code to be displayed.

Light panel fully lit stopping program selection and start does a electronic part need replacing

I would suspect the user interface panel.

Most dishwashers can be tested thusly:

Turn off power to the dishwasher at the circuit breaker box. Take apart the Dishwasher door and unhook the cable from the User Interface panel to the main control board. Then, turn the power back on and close the dishwasher door so it latches. The drain pump should go on. If it doesn't the main board is bad. If it does, it's the user interface panel.

I can not select a cycle on my belling idw450. Power is on

the program button on panel could be stuck or moisture in it. If there is no error displayed on panel, then take a hair dryer and on warm setting run it along the switch panel.
if error message is displayed then try to address the error first.
The program switch sits on top of the panel module which looks like this http://www.4ourhouse.co.uk/cgi-bin/product.pl?PID=1933696&query=Belling%20IDW450%20panel&model=IDW450&path=67231,297877:297772

It is the small board in front middle of the assembly.

Have a Miele G1220SC dishwasher. It recently developed a strange problem: when switching it on ALL program lights come on and the machine starts taking water. after a while it stops taking water and starts...

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

Heating Element

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the heating element might have burned out. The heating element heats the water up to operating temperature. After a set amount of time if the temperature isn't reached a light on the control panel might start flashing. The heating element can be checked for continuity with an Ohm meter.

Check Fault Codes

If the display lights are flashing and there is an error code in the display window, check the wiring diagram and tech sheet in the dishwasher that will provide information on the fault.

Drain Pump

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the drain pump might not be working properly. For two-wire drain pump motors check them for continuity using an Ohm meter. If it's defective You'll need to replace it. Drain pumps are not repairable.

Touchpad and Control Panel

If the lights are flashing on the display the entire touchpad and control panel assembly might be defective. If the display works but the dishwasher functions are all out of synch, or some of the buttons don't respond properly the entire touchpad and control panel might need to be replaced.

If the display lights are flickering for no reason, the touchpad might need to be replaced. Sometimes when the touchpad is defective the display lights are flashing randomly.

My new bosch axxis washer was20160uc does not start

Open the dishwasher door if the desired cycle does not perform as selected on the control panel. Press the main power switch "Off" and then "On" again. Select a cycle, press the appropriate button, press "Start" and close the door. Make sure the door is closed completely.

Check the circuit breaker and water supply if the dishwasher does not start after selecting the appropriate cycle on the control panel and shutting the door.

Turn "Off" the dishwasher and disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply if an error code between "E01" and "E30" appears on the digital display. Reconnect and turn the dishwasher "On." This should reset the control panel.

Terminate a program on the control panel by holding the "A" button and pressing "Start" at the same time. The display will read "0:01". Close the door to start the program sequence. The display will read "0:00" when finished.

Error code 2H

The control panel needs to be replaced (indicated by the "2H" error code displayed at the start of the cycle).
BTW - The number 1 displayed at the end of the cycle indicates the cycle has timed out (i.e., it doesn't mean 1 minute remaining). Hence the continued running of the unit. Until you replace the control panel, you'll have to manually cancel the cycle at this point.
