I've been trying to get my DVD player working, but no matter what I've tried, has not helped. I've downloaded & installed new drivers, and also a DVD decoder. I also downloaded Real Prayer, just to see if my player would read any DVD. No dice. Any recommendations? My PC is a Dell Dimension 2400, was purchased in 2004. Recently had a trojan on it, and it affected my operating system, so when my Windows XP was re-installed, I had to install a few drivers just to bring my PC up to snuff.

Dvd medie player

It seems you don't have any codecs... The problem is not in windows media player.
Just install a codec pack like http://www.free-codecs.com/download/codec_pack_all_in_1.htm

Hope to solve your problem.

Hp pavilion g windows 7 wont play dvd

Hello,

Try booting to safe mode and try playing your DVD there. If it doesn't work, then try updating the driver of your DVD player by going to the device manager. If no go, then try resetting the DVD player by removing it and putting it back in.

If it doesn't work, then you might need to buy a new one.

By the way, do you have RadarSync in your computer already? RadarSync automates your computer's driver updates. If you don't have it yet, then I suggest that you install it so that you can avoid from having outdated drivers and device drivers related problems.

No Audio Device

Try using the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve problems with sound and audio.

Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com andin the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Downloadand install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It'sa very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formatsand media. It's totally FREE.
If VLC Player works try your media player again. It might be necessary to reinstall Windows Media Player if it still gives you the error message.

My media player want play dvd's

Maybe your screen resolution needs to be higher? What type of error message are you getting? Are these dvd's that you were able to play before?

Most computers will have problems playing dvd's that someone made for you on their computer. Try a store purchased dvd and see if it plays.

You can always reinstall windows media player at Microsoft's site below.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/downloads/windows-media-player

You can also try the VLC Player. It comes with drivers and codec. I've seen it solve a lot of issues that Media Player could not fix.

Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com and in the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Download and install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. Panasonic DVD-S31 won't play sound

Did you change the audio cable, "just to rule out" If it won't work on the Tv or stereo, there probably is a audio processor problem, or a issue with the laser pickup assembly, to repair this kind of problem would not justify the cost.

Hi do I need a video card to read/play dvds on my 760GXK8MC m/b based computer. I've tried downloading codecs but they don't seem to help?

Hi, you can download this codec from here:

http://www.digital-digest.com/software/download.php?sid=1052&ssid=0&did=1

After you have installed this you can play dvd in the windows media player.
And don`t mess with the settings in this program.

You can download the latest drivers from here:

http://www.foxconnsupport.com/download.aspx?models=en-us0000073&category=C000000001&series=en-us0000003&keywords=&sort=Drivers

Have patience the page takes time to load.

You may have to install this:

http://www.java.com/en/download/

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

There is also a another player you can download and install:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

This player plays anything.

Hope this will help you.

I have a Panasonic DMR-ES30V. I've only ever recorded from what I'm watching on the TV to a DVD. I now have a VHS tape that I'd like to record to DVD. I tried starting the dvd to record...

Most Combo Recorders (VHS and DVD) will prevent you from
recording a Copyrighted VHS tape program onto DVD.
Try recording a TV program onto your VHS tape, then
transfer it to your DVD and see if your new DVD recording
will work or not.

How do i play british dvds on my american iliuv i1166 dvd player?

HERE'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM:

I've seen no problem about it. None at all in fact. Almost all DVD players have almost the same features no matter what DVD will you play in it - be it British, Indian, Filipino, or Chinese. So, try to play your DVD, I'm sure it will work.

Your problem is solved. Thanks...

DVD player on Polaroid 1913-TDXB is no longer reading DVDs.

I'm not a Tecnition, but in me experiance with D.V.D. players. I've managed to burn out 6 Players as I tend to go to sleep with the player on and they run all night & after taking an expensive one to a repair shop. His profesional opinion & £35 later (The cost of a fairly good NEW player) He told me plainly It was just worn out & not worth repairing. Apparantly the eye of the player is simalar to a light bulb & has a life expectancy limit, even the more expensive players have a life limit.
So if you've try'd the disc head cleaning kit to no avail, it might be time for a new player. I bought my last player for £2 at a car boot sale, that was Six mth's ago & it's still going strong.
Or you could do the same as me & waist £35 or more to get it repaired & how long will that last?
Not realy tec advice just my experiance with up to now Seven machines, all just plain worn out.
All the best.
