I got a 52" zenith rear projection tv from a buddy he was gonna toss it anyway i turned it on and replace lamp message came up 30 seconds later it shut off i can turn it on again but the more you turn it on and off it shuts off sooner and sooner untill it sits for about an hour then it will again turn off after 30 secs the picture looks fine it does need a new bulb but can a bad bulb cause it to shut off like that or could it be something else?

No,the tv message said replace lamp wright?Yes,mean the tv projection lamp is the causes and the problems.The tv projection lamp life span have ended that why the tv it is not holding a stable tv projection lamp picture.All throught these causes,does the tv make alot of clicking noises too,when the tv projection lamp is it on for 30 sec.and shut it self off?Yes,than the board that call the Ballast board it is also dead too.This Ballast board only job are to ignite the tv projection lamp only.Tries websites like Partstore.com,Ebay.com to buy a new tv projection lamp and a new Ballast board too for the replament too,if this tv causes have alot of clicking noises,when the tv is trying to ignite the tv projection lamp.

Ur tv some how is setting on sleeping timer is on.Goto ur tv Menu.Resetting everythings all functions in the Menu.This will stop the auto on.

Has Lamp been replaced? Also if Blaster board is bad Lamp will not turn on also CK Fan behind Lamp If it is not running Set will not turn on For Parts Try Encompass 1-800-639-3328 or look on line www.Encompass Parts, Also Look on E-Bay for Lamp and Blaster Board I found Lamp fot mine for 85.00 and blaster board for 55.00Type in Model number it will be on back of your TV.

Zenith model D52wlcd projection TV has been saying replace lamp for several weeks. Has had a small pink spot in middle of screen. Now full screen is pink. is this a lamp problem or just DOA?

The Lamp will no cause any color distortion. The "Replace Lamp" message comes up after a certain amount of hours after watching the TV because the lamp only last a certain number of hours before needing a replacement one.

It sounds like a light engine problem. There is no quick fix, you need to replace the whole light engine which is very costly (light engines usually run at least $500) and time consuming (need to take whole TV apart to replace part).

Rear Projection TV shuts down after a few minutes.

After, he replaced the lamp it stoped over heating.

Zenith power will not stay on

Either replace Lamp or Fan is bad.If lamp has been replaced its the FAN, fan must run at all times in order for set to come on and lamp to stay on.
