On the top border of the screen there is a 9 inch part of the edge that is dark and it fades down into the screen.

There may be screen damage and that entire part of your screen may just contain dead pixels.

Screen has bright circle in center and dark around edges and corners

You may want to remove back cover and wipe/clean the three large black lens.

Also go to an unused video input and examine screen; Same problem?

Let me know what you find.

My main screen is off center for game playing so I cannot get to all my buttons for choices--they are off the edge of the screen.

The screen could not have shifted only for one game or prog. It may be larger on all side and you notice it during the game when you want to access the buttons. So, press the settings button and reduce the screen size to occupy the whole physical screen (ie, max and no more). Now you will get the whole picture on the entire screen.

Dark edge of screen

there is a part inside the engine(the part that produces the picture) that is a mirror tunnel. The actual part name is "light tunnel" this tunnel takes the light from the bulb and compresses it into a smaller beam of light that is then shined onto the DMD(million mirrors) this produces the picture on a DLP TV. this mirror tunnel is glued together on all edges. One edge of your "light tunnel" has started to come unglued and has slipped a little. This causes the slightly dark area usually on the left side of the picture that you see. the light tunnel can be replaced as a single part. much cheaper than replacing the whole engine.

Image reduced by dark edges

An adapter tube has to flare out at the end or it will cut the corners off at the wide angle setting. Telephoto should be ok though.
