On hold alert

How do I remove the annoying beeping alert (reminder) when the call has been placed on hold?

  • mary1244 Sep 03, 2008

This would be the held reminder for me when I place a caller on hold. I need to find out how to program the phone for none.

You probably need to be more specific as to which tone is annoying :-)

The ON HOLD source is what the caller hears when he's put on hold. It can be adjusted in SYS programming to Tones, Music, or None.

The HELD REMINDER tone is what your phone does when you put a call on hold. It can be set for none to 180 seconds in 30 second increments (at least on a CICS).

The programming is done using a 7310 or better phone in system programming.

The answer is still there. You have to get into System Programming **CONFIG. You probably need the SYSTEM COORDINATOR PLUS password or the Installer password. Then look under SYSTEM PROGRAMMING and FEATR settings.

    HELD REMINDER will show up.

This works for xICS systems. I don't know if it translates to an 616/824 type system, but it should. You are turning the feature OFF to stop recalls (CHANGE toggles the selection from Yes to No).

I receive dings constantly for no apparent reason. No message, no email. What could be causing the annoying ringtones, could it be alerts or notifications that have been set.

Usually if it's a reminder is makes the noise and notifies you of the reason. Try turning your phone all the way off then back on.

I have a problem in my phone w850i sony ericsson that when i want to record the call without beep here i want to off beep during the call

the beep you hear during your phone call is a minute reminder meaning a beep will be heard signalling that the call has been going for another minute.

to remove this feature if you find it annoying just go to call settings there should be a setting about minute reminders: make sure it is off.

What can I do to stop that annoying beep sound

Usually that "beep" alert is an indication that your phone is NOT on vibrate, but on "beep". Check your side volume keys and make sure that your setting is on vibrate, then click "ok" to confirm your changed preference.
