SOURCE: the trimmer head stopped turning What could be wrong

here is web site for parts

http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=husqvarna&mn=225+L+%281994-06%29

almost sounds like the driving drum engagement end has rounded off or the end of drive shaft broke off at either end , or the gear head end is broken / damaged

have a look at the splines on the output shaft on the gear head , check the plate that engages those splines too

physicaly take off the tube / shaft assy from power head and check drum and clutch rotating , check drive shaft end (s)

if ok refit tube / shaft assy ( make sure engaged properly)
tighten mount bolts - remove gear head from end of shaft, start motor and run see if shaft turns ok with some rev s if so
problem is in the gear head

check out website good site

cheers paul hope it helps

SOURCE: the trimmer head will not spin under power

The drive shaft is not set all the way into position. You will have to take the front casing off, as well as the lower part of the shaft, and work it into position that way. You may have to play with it a little bit.

Could you please explain how I change from the nylon line trimming head to the metal cutting blade on my Echo brush cutter model SRM-22GES? Thanks for your help.

To change the head on the trimmer you will need to turn the trimmer upside down as if you were going to take the head off to restring it, spin the head and look for a slot in the side of the head when you see the slot, keep spinning until you see it line up with a hole in the metal piece the head attaches to. Stick a nail in the slot and hole and turn the head off the trimmer, if I remember correctly the head is backward thread.
Follow the steps backward for putting the brush blade head on the trimmer.

Fix Model 3105 also Model 3612

The small plastic piece falls out when cleaning the head. It goes back in the left side of the removable piece. Hold it with the screen closest to your body and upside down. The small piece fits in the upper left with the square edge to the left in the small recess. It just sort of snaps in.
Mine is actually the 3612 cordless but they look identical from the photo. I have been trying to fix it for 6 months. When a new head had the same problem with the piece falling out, I decided it might be repairable. After I pushed the piece back in, it stayed. You can tell where it goes by looking at the taken apart shaver (With the head removed for cleaning). The shaver has a plastic pin sticking up on the left side. This pin is what lowers the trimmer when the shaver is assembled.
Hope it works for you.

How do I feed string into my Homelite Mighty Lite 26ss grass trimmer? I don't have a manual and I can't figure it out. Thank you!

cut a 6 ft piece and wind it (starting with the middle of the trim line) around the head with each head going opposite directions. When you get it wound up, you will have two pieces sticking out in opposite directions and they can be clipped into the small plastic slots on the edge of the string canister. THen press the ball on, and attach to the trimmer.. Just keep the string the grooves and you will be fine...

OHYEAH!!! dont worry if it keeps coming unwound or pops off the trimmer at first, it will happen until you develop the technique needed for a quick replacement

Want to remove huscavana weed eater head

You should find a hole in the piece just above the trimmer head, this should line up with another hole deeper in the area. You stick a piece of rod in there to keep the head from turning. Use some pb blaster penetrating oil to help loosen up the head.

NEED INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR LINE INSTALLATION

If it is a duel line trimmer then:

Cut two separate pieces of string, about 7 ft. each.

Stick the end of the line in the hole on the inside of spool.

Wind clockwise onto spool, putting the line that is closest to the ground on first.

Once you have winded this piece on, lock the last 4 inches of line through the slits on spool.

Repeat process for second piece of line, locking the last 4 inches in slot opposite the other locked in piece.

Put the spool on the trimmer, feeding the end of lines through either hole on trimmer.

Before you push the spool all the way on, pull the strings out of the locked position.

If it is a single line trimmer: Then just wind a single piece of string clockwise onto spool. This may need to be longer than 7ft.

Replacement of Cutting Line! How to do? anneodello

There should be a half sphere-like object on the bottom of the spool where the line goes. Twist counter clock-wise to remove.

Line stuck inside head of troy-bilt trimmer

Take an awl or small diameter screw driver, same size or a bit smaller dia. than the line dia., and push it through the hole from the outside of the line head. This should push the piece of old line through the hole.
Recommendation: Leave at least one inch of line on the inside of the head, so you can grab it easily when you have to replace the line. I'll carry a pair of long nose pliers on me when I use my trimmer, so I can easily grab hold of the inside piece to pull it through.

Cannot disassemble Troy-bilt trimmer head

There is a round, rotary black part between the metal piece to which the cutting head attaches and the outer plastic seat of the cutting head. There are two square slots, each about a quarter inch wide, on opposites sides of the black piece. Slide an Allen wrench or something similar firmly into the slot. Holding the Allen wrench in a stable position, turn the outer plastic ring of the cutting head (it has scalloped edges that can be gripped firmly) counter clockwise to unscrew the cutting head from the bolt on which it is mounted. Be careful with the tool (e.g. Allen wrench) used to hold the black piece steady, as it is plastic and could be damaged by the edge of the tool.

Water ingressing into car vw passat

I have a 2001 VW New Passat and I found a little black piece sticking out on the driver side.... open the door and just above the top door hinge there is a little black piece sticking out right there... it should feel a bit soft to the touch (at least mine did anyways)... I squeezed it and a BUNCH of nasty slimy water came gushing out.. come to find out this is a drain tube that gets clogged up easily. Just squeeze it with your fingers and see if that lets the water out.
