Use the 65 degree low pressure nozzle for soap. The nozzle is black.

Same problem happened to me after starting it on the 1st pull used it and put it away for months. The carb.has a single jet which is a very small hole that gets gummed up when its not ran for awhile due to the Ethanol that they put in gas.Ethanol adds moisture to the gas over time as it sits. After you take the Carb.off and you take it apart and clean it.There is only 4 screws holding the air filter on to get to the carb.which is held on by 2 of those 4 screws. Before you take it off the motor drain the gas out of the bottom of the Carb.by removing the screw in the bowl.To make sure this wont happen again do two things.1st is to add a Fuel Stabilizer called STA-BIL its red in a clear bottle.2nd dont turn off the pressure washer by using the switch, turn off the gas and let stall by running out of gas so this way your carb will be empty as you it for month at a time.I have been doing these two things since the carb.was clogged on mine 4 years ago and when its time to use it I turn the gas on wait a couple of minutes for the gas to flow into the carb.and it starts everytime I use it and always on the 1st pull.Good Luck I hope this helps you....it did for me.

On a Troy-Bilt pressure washer I've cleaned carburetor clean the gas tank put in new gas it will start with starter fluid but will not run

I’m not that familiar with their pressure washer but I was able to get a few more years out of my string trimmer with a more in-depth cleaning than I was used to. I had let my trimmer set up through two seasons because I had someone doing my lawn. Steve is right about the tiny passages. I took my carb apart and “cleaned with some spray can parts cleaner wiped the parts dry and reassembled. Didn’t work. An old shade-tree friend showed me that I needed to soak the parts in cleaner. Their was a small steel mesh screen that I wasn’t able to clean with just the spray. I also CAREFULLY used compressed air to blow out those small passages. I did eventually replace the carb but got a few more years before I had to. Check your filters also. They’re cheap to replace.

My pressure washer sat for one year with gas and it wont start i added fresh gas and tried starting fluid it starts for a couple sec and shuts off...What should i do?

I hate to tell you but the carb will need cleaning. Try draining the bowl to get the old gas out.

Good Luck it is not that hard to do.

Engine won't start

Try spray starting fluid into the air intake, that may get it going.

Wont start acts like no spark but is getting spark

Did you try pulling the spark plug and spraying some starter fluid or carb cleaner into the cylinder, putting the spark plug back in and starting it? If you've got spark and it doesn't start for a few seconds then you probably have carb problems. Good luck!

Craftsman mower will not start without starting fluid

Sounds like you have water / debris in your carb fuel bowl. Using spray carb cleaner will only work if you remove the bowl and clean the carb jets. Also, you could have water in the gas tank as well. First, remove your air filter, then remove the 3 screws that attach your filter bracket to your carburator and mower. Take off your fuel line at the carb and drain all your gas into a clear jar. If it looks very yellow, cloudy, or see water in the bottom of the jug, change your gas. Using a half inch socket wrench, after gas line is disconnected, remove the fuel bowl and clean with carb cleaner. Also, examine the bolt you just removed. There are 2 jets in the side and one at the end. Using the carb cleaner, make sure they are clean as well. Use the carb cleaner extension tube to spray up inside the bottom center of the carb, where the bolt threads, to clean that area as well. After all this make sure your float assembly is intact and reassemblt the bowl to the carb and reattach the the fuel line. finish by reattaching the air filter support bracket making sure the gasket between the carb and the bracket isn't damaged. Also, never use last year gas, alway buy freah every year.

The engine doesn't start. I didn't use it for several years. It started and ran well for about an hour; when I shut it off, I could not restart. I have tried the obvious...new plug, putting started

You need to give the carburetor a good cleaning, as well as the air filter. Chances are the carb. will need a new carb. kit since it has been years since you last used it. If you need tips on how to clean the carb., just let me know.

The power washer worked fine last year but I can't get it started

Gas over 30 days old should never be used in any small gas engine. Old gas will not kill it forever but the carb and tank need to be drained and cleaned. The easiest way to do that is usually by removal. Also try to remove the spark plug and clean it or replace it. All gaskets pertaining to the tank or carb should probably be replaced. All of which are minimal in cost to a new unit.

Unable to start gas engine on a NorthStar pressure washer

Disassemble and clean the carb. If it ran briefly with the starer fluid then gasoline is not coming through the carb.
