To change a displayed result into a fraction, press the [S=D] key. To force a result to be displayed as a decimal number before it is displayed, press [SHIF][=] instead of [=].
Well, you cannot have them both at the same time. The calculator has two input/output modes: The MathIO and the LineIO (the old one). In MathIO you have textbook display. Expressions are entered and displayed as they appear in textbooks. In the LineIO mode expressions are entered on a single line (the old way). You have to choose which one you want, because you cannot have them both enforced at the same time.
I suggest you use the natural display (textbook). After a result is displayed, you can press the [SD] key and the result will be converted to a decimal number. You can also press [SHIFT][=] instead of [=] to force the display to be in decimal format.
Hello, Since you bent on deactivating the very features that make your calculator so versatile and so powerful, here it is. Press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO] and you will see no more fractions, nor radicals etc. You asked for it. Hope it helps.

Hello,
To convert fractions to decimals or decimals to fractions, you use the [S<->D] key. Each time you press the key the result is displayed in the other format.
Alternatively, If you multiply or divide two integer numbers put a decimal mark at the end of one of the numbers (any one). The result will be displayed in decimal format.
You can always convert a fraction to a decimal. The reverse may not
always be possible. Look at the example on the screen capture.
You
may be lucky and recover a fraction you have just converted into
decimal format, but you cannot just write 0.333333333333 and expect the
calculator to convert it to 1/3: The true fraction 1/3 has an infinite
number of 3's after the decimal mark.
Doubt you're still having this problem as its been months....figured id post for people who stumble across this from google.
Click on the shift button in the top left, then select the mode buttom (second from top right), then press the number 2. This should switch the calculator onto linear and will give you answers with decimal points.
