My HP Deskjt F4280 will not print Avery injet 08371 business cards.
I tryed the other number on the cards, 5371. Neither of them will line up proper. If I print on a blank paper it is printed correct. I put it up against the b card paper and it lines up perfect, but when I try to print with the avery paper it messes up. I can use other b card paper and it will work, but avery won't

You can use a different template for either the labels or the business cards, just make sure the labels you choose are the same size as the avery 05161 & the business cards are the same paper eg: glossy etc. The other thing you can do is go to avery.com & download the correct templates.
In printing properties and printing preferences be sure and tell the printer you're printing labels, it allows more time for the card stock to reach the starting point.
Try placing the business card sheet in the main paper bin instead of the manual feed or adjusting the print orientation from Portrait to Landscape or vice versa.
Looks like this has to do with the interaction between the Win 2007 (assuming Office) and the printer driver. Try reinstalling the driver for the printer. Even downloading another one from the HP site if necessary.
My problem with alignment was caused by the printer being set to the wrong paper size (A4 not letter). This may not be a solution to the first problem.
Verify no pieces of the card paper are missing and try printing on plain paper to make sure. Then try new card paper and make sure none of the perforations are separated.
If you are using avery pre cut cards it is necessary to chane you page format . When you click on page format go all the way down and you will see the selection of avery templates. If you are using office I mean word or publisher go to microsoft on-line and type in the search bar avery templates If you are using printshop go to the printer format selection and you will see the avery section.

The reason your pictures come out dark and grey is that you have not set the paper thickness on your printer. On the back you will see a flip switch change this setting then feed your business card sheet in there and see the diffrence. Plus make sure your settings for your printer are set for a thicker paper this will fix your problem. Make sure though when done printing your cards that you set it back to the normal or you will have problems printing regular paper documents.
