The cause of this problem can be traced to both the computer's hardware configuration and Windows 98SE (Second Edition). PhotoMAX cameras and other devices featuring USB (Universal Serial Bus) connections may not work with computers running Windows 98 Second Edition and equipped with the following computer hardware: * an AMD processor (350 MHz or higher) * VIA Technologies USB Host Controller or SiS 7001 USB Host Controller To find out what USB Host Controller is on your system: 1. Click Start > Settings and choose Control Panel. 2. Double click the System icon. 3. Choose the Device Manager tab. A window similar to the one shown below appears. 4. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers listing by clicking on the "+" sign next to the listing. 5. Note the type of host controller in the listing. The example above shows the SiS 7001 PCI to USB Open Host Controller.

I bought jet flash 500 pendrive model TS4GJF500 I HAVE USE WIN 98 MY PEN DRIVE IS NOT DETECTED WHAT CAN I DO PLEASE GIVE ME A SOLN

Hi..

Windows 98 does not support Plug n Play Devices. So you have to download appropriate drivers from Microsoft Website. Though Windows 98SE ( Windows 98 Second Edition ) thought to be support USB Mass Storage Drives fairly, these drivers are not pre-installed with OS. You have to download Service packs to install these drivers.

Since Windows 98 have TWO versions, we have to download corresponding service packs .

You can
Download Service Packs for Windows 98 Here

Download Service Packs for Windows 98 SE (Windows 98 Second Edition) Here

To Know how to install these, please click on

How to install on Windows 98 SE

You can find more details about this issue on this page

Thank You.

Can't get photos out of old pc

Since it is a 98, you can use a usb thumb drive, but you'll have to install the driver that comes with the drive. You could also use the floppy drive if it has one. You might have to use several if there's a lot of pictures.

Hope this helps!

I have Windows 98 and I need to download drivers for my USB DRIVE HOW AND WHERE CAN i DOWNLOAD

First you need win98SE (the Second Edition), still not sure that it will work I guess you try to conect a USB 2.0 device, I think that it will be better if you buy a 4 port USB 2.0 PCI card, install in an empty mainboard slot then install the USB drivers that come with the card and connect the device, be sure to ask the dealer for compatibility before you buy.

Need driver for this camera for windows 98

debra_s,

You'll have to explain what you want to do? If you want to download your images, you don't need a driver, just attach a Windows 98 compatible card reader to your USB port and download your pictures to your favorite photo manager. You should be able to attach your camera via USB, and if the USB drivers detect the camera's disk, then a new drive will appear your My Computer.

If you have Windows 98 Second Edition, you should be set to go, if you have Windows 98 First Edition (where it doesn't say Second Edition in the My Computer properties), you'll have a tougher time with the USB connections. It would be best to upgrade your machine, or find the Windows 98 SE upgrade from a friend.

The CD that came with the camera will have the necessary software for Windows 98 SE.

What have you tried to do? What isn't working? Let me know some details and I'll help you out.

Hope these ideas help. Clarify some things and I can give you a more narrow answer.
