NordicTrack A2550 Pro Treadmill. It was sitting in another room and started without the safety key in it.

Apparently the key is magnetic, so perhaps you had a magnetic event? Having said that, it shouldn't run unless switched on. Better to turn off at the mains when not in use.

Belt is loose

there are adjustment bolts on the back end of the treadmill. they are on either side. start with belt running about 3mph. tighten the side where the belt is closest. about 1/4 turn. give 15-20 seconds to see adjustment . when it is centered, tighten both bolts evenly until belt is tight.

A2550 motor belt still slipping after replacing it with a new one. and there is no ajustment on the dirve motor, what to do?

Harvey, there are problems with the front plastic pully slipping on the metal drive roller. It appears that the drive belt is slipping. Just make sure that you rule the pully out first. If after that the pully stops with the front roller and the walk belt, there are only Two different drive belts used, double check the part number. Usually I use a ratcheting strap to pull the drive motor up to the bracket, because the belt is so tight there is no other way to get the motor close enough to the bracket to get the 3/8" bolts to even start into the motor. If you did not severly struggle to install the new drive belt, chances are its the wrong one.

While using my Nordictrack a2550 this morning, the walking belt began to slip very badly. I checked the alignment and adjusted the tension of the belt as per the user's manual but the belt stills slip...

if it really is the walking belt that is slipping keep tightening the adjustment screws till the belt will not slip when you try to stop it ( set speed to about 3 and then with your foot try to stop belt from spinning - you should be able to make the motor and whole machine come to a stop ) make sure it is really walk belt spinning and it isnt the motor belt slipping. (if it is motor belt slipping when you try to do the stop the belt trick i just described you will see the walk belt and front roller stop but still hear the motor turning) once you get walk belt tight enough so it doesnt slip then you can worry about keeping the belt centered.

let me know if you need more help on this and let me know how the stop the belt test went

good luck!

Just bought a Nordictrack a2550 last week. Only used it for about 2 hours and I'm having bet issues already. The belt will not stay centered no matter how much I try to fix it. The belt is also slipping...

Do you know if you are tightening it correctly?
Both bolts at the back of the walking belt should be turned clockwise to tighten the belt. You must also tighten the bolts the same amount and typically no more than 1/2 turns at a time. I usually adjust belts while the machine is running at approx 3 mph. Your belt should be just tight enough to not slip when you walk on it. If its too tight you'll wear out the motor bearings.

Just purchased the nordic track 2550 pro treadmill and was wondering if you had to lubricate the belt, i was told that it was self-lubricating and never needed oiled.

Hello,

You do not need to lubricate the belt, unless you speek with or read something from Nordic trac. Oiling wont hurt anything, but is not needed.

Nordictrack motor will not run when start button is pushed.

Likely the cover of one of the motor brushes popped off. Unplug the machine before you pop it back in place, then try it again.

If that doesn't work, most likely it's the motor control board, or possibly the console, or finally just a loose connection behind the console.

But most likely, it's the motor brush cover. I've been seeing that alot with this model.
