Battery life for my camera is miserable - I've had the camera for 2 years and I'm already on my second battery. Is this a function of the make and model or do I have a faulty camera? Thank you

Usually Olympus cameras have other batteries with longer life in them. You just have to pay more for them.

How are the contacts in your camera? are they bent to the point that they could be losing contact or is there any corriosion or oxidation to them?

It depends on what kind of battery your using. is nickel cadium or is a lithium battery there is a big difference. everything that uses a battery when in operation draws down a battery. is it rechargable? if so it could be your a/c charger is faulty and when charging the battery it's not giving it it's full charge. are you letting it fully go dead and then recharging? or are you recharging it constantly? these could be a few reasons other than the camera for poor battery life. but if a battery lasts a year i would say that it's a pretty good . hope this helps you.....please rate this

That is not good, by the way is there a possibility that the battery is over charge? because overcharging it will cause some damage on the battery and it will only good for a few months...

Hope that helps........

When I completely charge my golf cart the charge meter no longer goes all the way to the top. Are the batteries close to having to be replaced? Or could it be some less expensive problem?

hi will the life spam of the battery is only for 2 years if that is more than 2 years your lucky to go further the life of your battery..maybe in the series of the battery on your cart there is 1 that weak already.

Very low battery life

I have the same camera. It sounds to me that there is a fault with the camera itself and not the battery. You might be better sending Canon an email and asking them. My battery lasts forever so I would think if you already purchased another battery you've eliminated that problem. It might be the contacts inside the camera that are not accepting the full charge. Does the camera battery on screen show that it's full after you've charged it? Maybe trying charging it overnight and then trying it out the next day.

The camera was dipped into water and it was not functioning right now.

It could already be dead, water and electricity don't mix, but you could try this.

Take out the battery (If anything like this ever happens again, camera, mobile phone, anything electrical, remove batteries immediately).

Put it in a dry warm place, airing cupboard, over a radiator (but not on) for a few days to dry out the circuits, then put the battery in and try again.

If it doesn't show any signs of life then, I'm afraid its had it. But if you've accidental damage cover on your home insurance, you should be able to claim against that for a new one.

I am in Pune 411004 in India and have purchased Samsung digital es 15 camera recently. Original 2 aa Alkaline batteries have been completely used up.when I replaced these with 2 new eveready batteries...

Solution: As digital cameras become more advanced and include more features, the power needed to keep them functioning has also increased. That means that typical alkaline batteries likely won’t do more than power your camera for a few shots before running out of juice. Sometimes, your digital camera may not power on at all if the inserted alkaline batteries aren’t fully charged or powerful enough. Rather than carry along dozens of alkaline batteries for a single photo shoot, you can save money by purchasing rechargeable NiMH (nickel-metal hydride) batteries. Rechargeable batteries can be purchased with a charger that you plug into a wall outlet, and they fully charge in one to five hours depending on the charger and the type of batteries you’re using.

If you’re already using rechargeable batteries but are experiencing short battery life with your digital camera, it’s likely time to replace your rechargeable batteries with new ones. Depending on the number of charging cycles you perform (how many times you discharge and recharge your batteries), rechargeable batteries typically last for two to three years before they no longer hold a full charge. You may also ensure that you’re charging your rechargeable batteries directly before use. As batteries sit unused for extended periods of time, they automatically lose some of their charge.

There are many ways you can conserve battery life while using your digital camera, too. For starters, if your camera has a viewfinder in addition to an LCD, use the viewfinder to frame your shots and turn the LCD off because LCDs draw a lot of power. If you prefer to use the LCD, you can still conserve battery life if you refrain from looking at each picture on the screen after you take it.

The battery life of my ku990 is abnormal

The two main causes of battery life loss that no one thinks of are:

backlight settings (if you don't really need the backlight to stay on for 60 seconds after the last button press, lower it. this is a huge waste of battery life and it is easily changed in the settings menu of nearly every phone i have seen)

poor signal areas (when you have low signal, you phone wastes its battery life searching for acquirable signal. if it is unable to locate the signal, it will continue to search. this search uses up your battery life quite rapidly)

My camera just does not seem to hold a good battery charge. I use fully charged batteries and this also happens with Duarcell too. I am only using the camera in the "on" selection.

Some digital camera **** the life out of batteries, especially the older ones, even when off. It stores info like date and time etc. I take the batteries out when I am not using it for a while. True it is a pain resetting the time but it saves the batteries. Also go for the top line rechargebles,

ERROR C-2

Try replacing the battery - if it too is five years old, it's probably worn out.
