I have the same problem, but it's NOT netflix dawn or anything like that, because Pandora doesn't work either, or any internet services on my Sony Bluray player, so I know it's Sony Internet Services who refuse to connect to the internet, whats the problem SONY?

I'm having the problem right now on my Sony network media player. Exact same message with any service I try to connect to, such as NetFlix, YouTube, Amazon, etc...

Now it's back on and working. I did nothing to try to fix it, so I'm assuming it was the Sony network. I haope it's more stable than the impression I'm getting from these help blogs. Ugh.

I seem to be having a similar problem. I will keep gettin a "network error" message when trying to use any of the services. All connections are good. This is the second player after returning the first having the same problem. The Sony website has not helped.

Very frustrated with this problem. Thinking about taking the player back. The solution is to exit to HOME. You may have to do this several times. With Pandora even more.

When I use Pandora / Netflix from my laptop, or phone I don't have this problem at all, so I know it's something with the player. Even tried hooking up Internet through Ethernet cable. Didn't make any difference (note. wireless connection was 100%).

We just did an update on our 2016 Sony Bravia tv. Now Amazon app is not working. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but we're still unable to stream Amazon. Netflix and all other apps work.

It may be that Amazon themselves need to update their app to get it working with the update.

I'm unfamiliar with how updates are rolled out on your TV but if there is a way to check for updates then go ahead and do that and if possible reinstall Amazon app.

How do I get to a screen so I can log into Netflix with my blue ray

I checked out the manual for this player and was unable to find anything that said it supported Netflix. It does have a browser, so you could try accessing Netflix through that, but I have found that very few browsers on audio devices support streaming services. What made you think it did support Netflix.

My Sony Bluray/Disc player will not open Netflix & play. Started trouble with streaming & now it won't open it at all. No error message. It opens Amazon, Youtube, etc & will play those videos. Help!

Since the last number of months the media sites have been phasing out Flash for playing videos. They are moving to HTML5 video player. The devices that use these services will have to be updated to be compatible.

I have no idea about the different manufacture policies at what age of devices will be updated. With most disk players and TV sets that are less than about three years old they can be put in to a home network to be allowed to have factory firmware (internal software) updates. Check to see if your player model can be connected to a network for updates. Many of the models can use WiFi to access the net, if you have WiFi at home or at the location of the disk player. It is the same for TV set. The older models of disk players require a file to be downloaded from the manufacture site for the particular model, converted to an ISO file, burned to a CD disk, and then the CD loaded in to the player's drive; to perform the update.

Another solution to watch the videos is to use a computer that has an HTML5 compatible browser. If the display card of the computer has an HDMI with embedded audio output it can be connected to your video center or TV set to view the movies.

The newest versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer should have HTML5 compatibility. It is also a good idea to install Microsoft Silver Light. Some sites will require Java to be installed to access playing their videos with HTML5.

I hope this helps out...

My blue ray player suddenly cannot connect to any applications -- connection status cannot be confirmed.error code 300 - I checked all internet connections for wireless and using WPA says all internet and...

If you have a Sony device, the problem is completely on Sony's end (Feb 24 2015). A so-called "provisioning server" that Sony requires your device to use was down (whether by hackers or technical error), thus preventing your device from working. Very poor design! An error message clarifying that the problem was "Unable to reach the Sony server" would have saved me and many others hours of time trying in vain to fix a non-existent problem on my end. And worse is that this server only helps Sony capture details of your usage (forget your privacy!). They could easily have designed the device to connect directly (and much faster) to Netflix or wherever without snooping, or at least even if the Sony provisioning server were down. This probably also explains why it often takes so much time to connect to Netflix compared to when I use my PC. This is the last Sony Internet device I'll buy! And I'll check reviews to make sure whatever device I buy isn't hobbled by a similar poor design.

Try updating your apps and firmware on the Blu-Ray player from the setup menu. However if it is an older player the Amazon app may not be supported.

Adding amazon app to blu-ray player

Unfortunately, no. All the apps that are on any Blu-Ray are added or removed by the manufacturer. In your case, Netflix pays Vizio to put their app on there. I've seen apps removed and added from players during updates. So unless Amazon and Vizio make some sort of an agreement, that player will never be able to access anymore than what was loaded on it when you bought it.
