This is common problem burning with a bad quality of discs. Try with better quality discs e.g Verbatim.

Go to the website for the DVD Maker and download the latest drivers.
No reason this won't correct the problem.
Don't go to Sony unless they made the DVD burner.

I am trying to burn a cd in iTunes on my pioneer dvd-rw dvr-k17 ata device and I am getting an error saying "disc burner or software not found". My drivers are updated. I have a Sony Vaio. Any ideas?

Try this out, instead of updating you drivers, remove the former driver totally first by selecting Rollback driver, then uninstall the hardware(i.e your DVD-RW) from your system, then go online to download a new driver for it.
After this, scan your system for hardware changes in the Device manager page, then when it prompts for the driver, use the new driver that you downloaded to install it.
Hope it helps you out.

Cannot write to my CD/DVD Burner DVD-RW DVR-K14 on my Vaio laptop

Goto my computer, right click on your cd drive, and click properties. From there, click on recording, and make sure that Enable recording on this drive is checked. Also, What software/application are you using to burn the disc?

I can't write DVD with my Pioneer DVR-107D DVD±RW

What brand of media are you using?

You are burning at 2x because that is the highest that this drive supports.

You would also want to instruct Nero to Verify by ticking the check box and either finalize disc or make it mulitsession, if your burner supports multisession DVDs

DVD-RW drive burns music CDs and DVDs, but not data CDs

Alright. Seems like Windows, for some reason, doesn't think your drive is able to burn things when trying to deal with this kind of disc.

I'll need further information, like if you use another program to burn music CDs, and what other things might have changed the registry settings. I know of a fix that resolves issues with the Windows version of data CD burning, but it only applies to CD-R and CR-RW drives..
