if the amp could handle 1ohm paralell would work if not they wire in series

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. Does the voltage on either the B+ or remote pulse below ~11 volts when the LED flashes?

Considering you just bought it, the amplifier itself is probably not the issue. Small chance it is, but we'll go with that a last resort. Have you hooked it up without any speakers connected? Does the light still come on? Describe all the connections you have made to amp (what came from where, and what terminals it is connected to.)

OPEN UP THE AMP AND CHECK THE FUSE HOLDER THAT IT IS CONNECTED TO THE BOARD
IT MAY HAVE GOT BUMPED AND THE CONNECTION MAY HAVE BROKE IT MAY BE A HAIR LINE BREAK WITH THE COVER OFF AND THE POWER ON MOVE THE HOLDER MAY NEED TO BE RESOLDER THE CONNECTON THATS ALL IT IS GOOD LUCK

All amps aren't created equal. More exspense amps put out "cleaner" power. You need to know what the RMS power rating is for the amp at 8 ohms and 4 ohms. Also, is the speaker an 8 or 4 ohm speaker? How you wire a speaker or speakers (series or paralell) can change the ohms (resistence) which will change the power put out of the amp. Also, I'm assuming you are setting it up in mono?
