Check your air gap on your kitchen sink. If equipped, you will most likely find it clogged. Pull off the metal cap, then unscrew the white or clear cap. You should find your clog there. Replace both caps and remember to pre-rinse the dishes better before loading.

If the motor is running, the diverter solenoid valve is probably not functioning. It is attached to the pump. With the power off, take the solenoid apart and remove whatever is jamming it. Toothpicks are a favorite as are any large food particle. It may also be bad. Not the problem...you may have a defective timer or your outlet hose is clogged or kinked.

hello my name is gilles the problem you have their is something stuck in your drain valve causing the valve to stay open remove the valve clean out reintall every thing should be fine thanks
SOURCE: My Hotpoint dishwasher won't fill with water. I
abviosely check that there is water going into it but also check the float switch. There should be a bobber type of thing that goes up and down when the water fills in there. Move that up and down to see if it's stuck. You should here a click of a switch when doing that. If that doesn't do it let me know.
Hi
When the Dishwasher won't fill you'll need to
check for the water inlet hose, the water inlet valve and the float switch
assembly. When the water fills your dishwasher, a float rises along with it. As
the float reaches a certain threshold level, it shuts off the flow of water,
thereby preventing a leak. Sometimes the float can get stuck in the wrong
position in your dishwasher, and it can prevent your dishwasher from filling.
Sometimes it can happen due to float valve and on other occasions due to float
switch. Inspect the water hose coming to the dishwasher for any blockages. If the
hose is not clogged then check the water inlet valve for any clogs, if the
water will not even fill for few seconds then certainly the water inlet valve
is bad and should be replaced. You can also use a multimeter to check
continuity on inlet valve. If you don't get any value on the multimeter then
you'll need to replace the water inlet valve assembly. However, if the valve is
fine then the float switch assembly should be replaced. Hope this helps...
Please post back if you need more information.

I tested the door switch. It has 122 volts coming in and puts out 122 volts.
I show 20 volts going to what I believe to be the drain switch. 118 going to the motor leads. Motor continuity reads 12.2 ohms and it turns very hard... I can't find the specs on the motor. Dishwasher filled to the top of the drain cover so I don't think there's an issue with the fill valve.
