Is your car door sagging? It might be not aligned properly. Put a jack on the edge of door to take weight off door. Check bolts on hinge. If loose tighten up bolts. You cannot just tighten bolts because the weight of the door will misaligned the door. Also the hinge pin maybe bent. You might need a hinge pin kit.
Hi,
what you need to do is to grease up or put some lubricants in the locking mechanism on your door. to do so, remove the door panel of the faulty door.
you can remove the door panel by first, removing the lock screw or lock clip located between the window lever and the door panel. next, remove the screws that holds your door panel. after removing the panel, you can now see the mechanism that enables the door to remain locked or open. spray some lubricant or apply some grease to this mechanism.
You probably have the latch mechanism for the door that closes around the striker bolt that keeps the door shut closed.if you look at the latch system with the door open and see the fingers that close around the striker bolt they will probably be in the closed position not allowing the door to lock shut.if you pull on the door handle like you would to open it and use a screwdriver and push open the fingers with it so they are in the open position then the door will close and stay shut.lubricate the latch to help it move freely.sometimes this happens not allowing the door to stay shut.
Here's something that might help you. Look at the door theres a little hook that grabs the striker on car, hold the door handle "open" and move the hook to the open position try to close the door. That should solve your problem. Hope that helps you.
