My Haier refrigerator, model # AES44W, the compressor will not start. The relay keeps clicking apparently to keep it from damaging the compressor. Do I need a new overload protector as it does not have a capacitor? Where can I order one?

This sounds like the relay has gone on the compressor. Call your local appliance parts store
(no model no. needed) and ask for a hard start kit. Instructions are on kit.
I use ERP 410 powerstart relay capacitor and over load. See it has everything and is much better than the original.
Remove the back cover, pull the original relay off the compressor pins, cut the two wires and install according to instructions. Very easy job.

Deep freezer not freezing food and keeps making a clicking sound.

It sounds like your Haier deep freezer is having an issue with the compressor and cooling system. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Check the compressor: Make sure the compressor is running and not too hot to the touch. If the compressor is not running or is hot, it may be faulty and will need to be replaced.
  2. Check the compressor's overload protector: The overload protector may have tripped, check to see if it is tripped and reset it if necessary.
  3. Check the compressor's capacitors: They could be damaged and need replacing.
  4. Check the evaporator fan motor: If the evaporator fan motor is not functioning properly, it could cause the freezer not to freeze.
  5. Check the defrost system: If the defrost system is not working properly, the evaporator coils will frost over and the refrigeration will not work.
  6. Check the thermostat: Ensure that the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature. If it is set too low, the freezer will not freeze properly.
  7. Check the power supply: Make sure the freezer is properly plugged in and that the outlet has power.
  8. Check the clicking sound: If the clicking sound is coming from the compressor, it could be the compressor's relay switch, which is responsible for turning the compressor on and off. This could be the issue and will need to be replaced.
Please note that if a compressor is a sealed unit and you're not able to charge it, it's best to contact the manufacturer or a professional for further assistance.

Keeps making a clicking noise

The clicking noise is most likely the compressor overload. Something is happening like a fan going bad a thermostat or the compressor start relay, capacitor and overload. Don't leave it plugged in with this happening because this can damage the compressor. Pull the refrigerator away from wall, unplug and remove lower cover near compressor. Feel top of compressor on its top and if too hot to keep your hand there then we need to work together on finding the problem, Sears uses a different model number than most companies for example 321.56489 around the door frame or freezer drawer or inside the fresh food compartment, I will need that to help you better, Thanks Sea Breeze

Not keeping things cold

check to see if the compressor is running in a cycle. if the compressor is not cycling, you will need to replace the compressor and fan.

if the compressor is humming, it because of a faulty motor and relay(start device). replace the compressor unit in this case.

DONT SAY THAT COMPRESSORS BAD YET !!!! TECHCUMSE AND COPELAND ALL HAVE THE SAME COMPONENTS FOR STARTING THE COMPRESSOR. ALL COMPRESSORS HAVE EITHER A "PIN-TYPE PLUG-IN START RELAY, OR CAPACITOR START ASSIST RELAY" TO GET THE COMPESSOR TURNING.( FROST-FREE REFRIGERATORS ALMOST ALWAYS HAVE A START-CAPACITOR, RELAY, AND T-STAT COMBO ON ALL MAKES. THE IN LINE BI-METAL TYPE T-STAT THAT PREVENTS THE COMPRESSOR FRON OVER HEATING... THEY CAN GO WEAK. THIS IS THE "CLICKING SOUND YOU ARE HEARING !!! CALL A REPUTABLE DEALER THAT IS "FACTORY CERTIFIED" FOR YOUR MAKE AND MODEL AND GET A "FLAT-RATE" DIAGNOSTIC CHECK PERFORMED. NEVER LET A REPAIRMAN TAKE DEFECTIVE PARTS OUT OF YOUR HOUSE FOR ANY REASON. BY LAW THEY HAVE TO LET YOU KEEP THEM UNLESS THEY ARE REPLACING THEM COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FOR EXCHANGE. UNFORTUNATELY HUNDREDS OF CONSUMERS ARE "BILKED" BY THE " DOI-IT-ALL REPAIR-MAN. MOST MANUFACTURES ONLY HAVE 1 YEAR ON COMPRESSORS FOR REFRIGERATORS 5-10 YEARS ON A/C COMP. DONT BE AFFRAID TO WATCH AND ASK QUESTIONS TO REPAIRMEN YOU LET "INTO YOUR HOME".
