Installation of JVC USB driver

According to pinnacle, it will not. (As its software only supports XP)

To install the PC Suite with Windows® XP If you use Windows® XP on your computer, you may need to install two hot fixes on your computer to use your phone with the PC Suite. If so, the PC Suite will ask you to install the Microsoft® software hot fixes during the installation. To install the hot fixes for Windows® XP:

1. Connect the USB cable to the computer and the phone.
   
2. On the phone: When you attach the USB cable to the phone, a USB connection window appears. Select PC Suite.
   
3. On the computer: Click PC Suite on the autoplay pop-up to start the installation. If no autoplay pop-up appears, see the instructions below to access the installation software drivers.
   
4. In PC Suite, click on the first hot fix (KB943198), which re-directs you to the Microsoft® support site to download the hot fix.

   Note:Before you download, make sure that you choose the same language for the hot fix that is set on your Windows® XP language settings.
   
5. Follow the installation instructions.
   Note: The computer may restart after the first hot fix is installed.
   
6. Return to PC Suite and click the second hot fix (KB945436), which re-directs you to the Microsoft® support site.

7. Request the fix to be e-mailed to you and enter your e-mail address.
   
8. Go to your e-mail client and open the e-mail. Click the link to the hot fix.
   
9. Click Run to the File Download pop-up.
   
10. Unpack the attached protected zip file. Click Ok to Microsoft Self-Extractor or select a source.
    
11. Use the provided password included in the e-mail.
    
12. Open the downloaded hot fix and follow the installation instructions that appear.
    

Note: If you run Windows® Vista, this problem installing PC Suite will not occur.
The drivers for the installation files are located on your memory card. The first time you connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable, a pop-up is often automatically shown on the computer.
To access the installation software drivers for PC Companion, PC Suite or Media Go:

1. Connect the USB cable to the computer and the phone.
   
2. On the phone: When you attach the USB cable to the phone, a USB connection window appears. Select Mass storage.
   
3. On the computer: Click My Computer > PHONE CARD/Sony Ericsson PC Software > pccompanion > Startme.
   
4. The PC starts to initiate the PC software installation. Follow the installation instructions that appear.
   
5. When installation is complete, Sony Ericsson PC Companion will start.
   

Note: During installation, several pop-ups may appear about Device driver installation or trusted software. Click Yes/Continue/Next to finalise the installation.

I also would recommend you use ethernet since you do not have to install any software to make it work.

You will need to reboot the cable modem when ever you change how its connected also Ethernet/USB or if it was connected to a different PC.

With the Lexmark printers communication subsystem you MUST let the driver ask for you to plug in the printer. DO NOT plug the printer into the USB port until told to do so.

To fix a fouled install :
(1) Uninstall the Lexmark drivers in Add Remove Programs
(2) Shutdown the computer
(3) Disconnect the printer from the USB port
(4) Restart the computer
(5) Run the Driver Installation software
(6) Cancel ALL attempts by windows to auto install the printer
(7) When the sofware asks for the printer connect it and continue

I think you have downloaded the driver for windows XP 32 bit OS, and i think that your PC supports Windows XP 64 bit Operating System.

5. Power on the printer, and connect it to the computer when prompted.
6. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" will be displayed.
7. Select No, not this time.
8. Select Install the software automatically (Recommended).
9. Depending on your product, you might see one or more Windows' warning screens.
10. Click Continue anyway or Yes each time these Windows warning screens appear.
11. Click Finish.
12. Reboot your computer (Highly Recommended).

Installation instructions: Wired and Wireless Network
1. Download the x64Drv5.64.0.17.exe file.
2. Once downloaded, choose Open or just Run the x64Drv5.64.0.17.exe.
3. Follow onscreen instructions listed below:

5. Choose your printer after the installer has identified it on the network.
6. The "Found New Hardware Wizard" will be displayed.

11. Click Finish.

The Visioneer 7600 USB scanner is not supported on Windows XP, although it may function properly on most systems. If you choose to install the software on Windows XP, we recommend creating a system checkpoint by using the Windows XP System Restore feature. During installation Microsoft displays a warning dialog because the driver you are installing has not been submitted to Microsoft for testing. Click the Continue button to complete the installation. If you experience any problems with your scanner or operating system, remove the software and restore to the point created before you installed the driver.

If you install the Toshiba Pocket PC e570 via USB cradle under Windows 2000 or Windows XP a warning message may appear durning this installation: The driver for the USB cradle comes from Microsoft and is integrated in the ActiveSync 3.5 Software. This driver has not been signed, therefore this warning appears. Please Note: This is only a warning messages. You can certainly continue with the installation, and expect the driver to run well. Microsoft has produced a new ActiveSync Version 3.5 and has released it 1st of March 2002 . The issue is solved in the new version. The version number has remained the same, but the Build Number has increased form Build 1176 to Build 12007. This new ActiveSync Software can be downloaded from the Microsoft.

The JVC USB driver was written before introduction of the Windows XP system. This warning is displayed with other manufacturer’s digital cameras, also, and is not strictly a JVC phenomenon. In order to use the USB interface between the camera and your computer, select the “CONTINUE anyway” option provided in this warning display. To JVC’s knowledge, there are no negative effects to using JVC driver with Windows XP.
