Ventilate won't go away! WHY?

Why do I get Ventilate all the time?
The ventilate problem will always come back if the flow meter is restricted. If the flow meter is plugged it will never go away. What happens to cause this problem? Coffee grounds are the answer. If you remove the water tank, it exposes the water intake receptacle under the tank on top of the machine. The small opening in the receptacle that has a hose that goes to the flow meter that then goes to the pump intake. If some coffee particles fall into this opening when you are filling the bean hopper (and they do). When the pump is activated, it creates a suction, moving the water and anything in the hose to the flow meter. The flow meter has a small opening in the intake side. ). When the pump is activated, suction inside the flow meter creates a jet of water, which spins the little turbine inside. The turbine has a small magnet on top that passes a pick up sensor, which tells the computer that water is flowing. If the intake opening is restricted with coffee grounds, it will let some water flow but won't create a jet of water needed to spin the turbine. Water will come out of the steam wand, but won't spin the turbine and the ventilate signal will still be there. If the flow meter is slightly restricted, the pump can create enough suction to spin the turbine when there is no restrictions when the steam valve is just flowing water (priming), but when you try to steam or make coffee and the pump slows down, the jet of water stops and so does the turbine and the ventilate comes back. How to fix this problem? Answer, the flow meter has to be removed and cleaned, or just replaced. How to prevent this from happening? If you are working on the bean hopper (filling with beans) keep the water tank on and covered. This will prevent a bean chip from falling into the receptacle and getting to the flow meter. Do the same with the bean hopper. If you ware filling the water tank, keep the lid to the bean hopper on, so water doesn't spill into the bean hopper and ruin the grinder.

error message "Ventilate"

Hi
That means the pump needs to be primed by running water through the wand. Push the water button for water(the drop symbol) You will hear the pump change tone when it primes and the light or message will disappear. If you have a restriction in the intake line the message will not go away. There is a flow meter inside the machine that measures water flow. If the flow meter does not spin when the pump is running, the computer thinks that the pump is not primed. Ventilate

Screen indicates to ventilate and won't allow any fuctions till ventilated. Have ran ventilate cycle several times, however machine still indicates to ventilate. Water flow is extremely low to nil when trying to ventilate.

Hi,

If you open the steam knob and only can get a half cup of water, then your flow meter in the machine have to be replaced.

If you need to replace the flow meter then it has spare part number: 286473300

Make sure to descale your machine often.

Gaggia Titanium SS. I get a constant ventilate request, but water comes out a drop at a time. First time it came up a few coffee grounds came out of the steam/water wand. But now just a few drops of water.

HI If you have a restriction in the intake line the message will not go away. There is a flow meter inside the machine that measures water flow. If the flow meter does not spin when the pump is running, the computer thinks that the pump is not primed. Coffee grounds will get into the intake and restrict the flow meter. If you get a restriction in the water intake (below the water tank, on the machine) the pump may run and water comes out, but the flow meter does not create the jet of water needed to spin the turbine wheel to send impulses to the computer. You get the ventilate message. One thing to remember is when you are working on the water system (have the water tank off) do not fill the bean hopper and visa versa. Keep them covered when working on the other. Cross contamination will damage a machine fast

Solis Palazzo Steam problem

Hi
Sounds like your flow meter is restricted with the usual chip of bean. The flow meter spins when the pump is moving water. There is a small opening in the intake side of the flow meter and this creates a jet of water that spins the flow meter. When the flow meter is spinning the machine is happy, but when the intake gets restricted the water doesn't spin the flow meter and the machine says ventilate. It wants the flow meter to spin and be happy. You could possibly fix it your self if your handy, other wise let the pros do it.

Machine Is Stuck on "VENTILATE" Command

I had this "Ventilate" problem after descaling my Saeco Incanto de luxe. I tried all posted suggestions within my capability/user level to no avail. Just when I thought I was going to need to contact customer service for repair, I went through the menu settings and selected "yes" for Factory Settings and the ventilate message went away and the machine was immediately "Ready for Use". Weird, but it worked for me.
