Tip & How-To about Apple iPad 16 GB 3G Tablet PC
Connecting your Apple iPad to the internet is very simple. When you use a application that requires internet capabilities your iPad will do several things.
-The iPad will attempt to connect using the last Wi-Fi network you used that is available.
-If no network you previously used is available, the iPad will show a list of networks in range. You can then tap a network and if needed, enter a password to join the network. Any network with a locked Icon will require a password. These are secure networks.
-If no networks are available or if you don't choose one, the iPad will then connect over a cellular data network.
What is the difference between a cellular and Wi-Fi network? A Wi-Fi network is generally faster, but covers less of an area. Think of your home wireless network, or a wireless network at a library. It has limited range. A cellular network is generally slower but covers a larger area. Normally, if you are connected to a cellular network you will see a 3G icon or E icon at the top of your device. Also, you normally pay to use a cellular network.
To see all the Wi-Fi networks in range: From the Home screen, choose Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap a network to join it.
