why am I seeing pictures of everybody in my photo section on facebook? when openning my photos, there are many, many pictures there.

Hi!
This is to clear things out for you. What you press on the left part of your homepage, the Photos under News Feed is actually the photos of your friends that was recently uploaded in facebook.

If you want to view your own photos, then what you will need to do is click the Profile on the upper right portion of your homepage. Once in the Profile page, just above your comment box your will find the Wall, Info, Photos etc...tab. Click the Photos tab, and all of your own photos will appear.

Please rate me if this answers your question.

Thank you for using Fixya.

privacy setting updates not taking effect

After you change your privacy settings, click Save Changes. The new facebook adds your saved favorite applications you want to show on your profile page, next to Info, Photos, you have to click the right arrow. This is to reduce page clutter such as Myspace has tons of clutter and pages take forever to load due to inexperienced users trying to make web sites. Make sure you Refresh your browser to view changes made to the page (F5).

i cannot get the entire news feed and all on my facebook homepage. there is always an error coming. hardly i can see anything done by all my frnds recently. only 3 or 4 posts r visible on my homepage. but my profile is working properly. please help me out with this.!!

Facebook changed their site a little bit. News Feed aggregates the most interesting content that your friends are posting, while Live Feed shows you all the actions your friends are making in real-time.

You can control how many friends are shown in Live Feed by clicking "Edit Options" at the bottom of the page.

The News Feed algorithm bases this on a few factors: how many friends are commenting on a certain piece of content, who posted the content, and what type of content it is (e.g. photo, video, or status update).

You can remove friends from the News Feed list (from your default stream) simply by clicking the "Hide" that appears when you hover over their story in your stream.

To add someone back to your News Feed, follow these steps:
  1. Scroll down to the bottom of your News Feed and click "Edit Options."
  2. If you are looking for a friend, scan the list to find that person. If you are looking for a public profile, select the Public Profiles tab.
  3. Click "Add to News Feed" to see their posts again.
  4. Click "Close" to save your changes.

Facebook enables you to see what’s happening with your friends through past events and real-time feeds of information. Highlights and the News Feed were combined into a single stream so that you could have more control over what you view on your home page and stay connected with your friends.

As a result of this change, you’ll notice that the Suggestions section has been moved to the right-hand column of the home page. Also, birthdays and events are displayed more prominently on the home page.

When someone sends you a friend request, public stories about you may appear in their News Feed. If you decline a friend request from this person, public stories about you (stories that have the privacy set to "Everyone") will no longer appear in their News Feed. Please note that News Feed will never show stories that a non-friend wouldn’t ordinarily be able to see. For example, if you posted a video and set the privacy to "Friends," a person who is waiting for you to approve their friend request would not see that in their News Feed. If you had set the video to be visible to Everyone, that person would see it.

You can always change your privacy settings by selecting "Privacy Settings" under the Settings drop-down menu and clicking the appropriate section.

://www.you Since Fb changed News Feed I haven't been able to post Status Updates from my home page. I'm using Linux on an Acer One Aspire netbook.

Want to restore Facebook back to the way it used to be but leave it on Live Feed? Here's how. Click on "More" on the left side and move "News Feed" all the way to the top. Now click on News Feed, then, click on Live Feed, then scroll to the bottom and click on Edit Options. Finally change the number from "250" to something big like "500" then click Save.
