Tip & How-To about Computers & Internet

A useful tool of Window

The Malicious Software Removal Tool does not replace an antivirus product. It is strictly post-infection removal tool. Hence, we strongly recommend that you install and use an antivirus product.
next to the windows icon in the search bar click type mrt ( Run as Admin ) then click/tap on next; on the small windows of the Tool click in Next, them we have three option:
1) Quick Scan
2) Full Scan
3) Customized Scan
After you choose ( I used the Quick Scan to see what is come on ) click on Next to the beginning...
when is finish the MRT show you the Result Scan, next click on Finish.
If the MRT found any malicious software or corrupt file they remove automatic, you do not need doing anything.

I have 38 viruses

On the 2nd Tuesday of every month, Microsoft releases a free tool to address virus infections. The tool is called Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool. It is usually downloaded in an infected computer's hard drive but if this cannot be done, the tool can be loaded into a USB stick or thumbdrive on another computer then inserted into the infected computer's USB port to be run. Microsoft also has online tools to scan and remove malware. For more information and download go to .... http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/malware-removal.aspx

My Lenovo ideapad keeps freezing ever since I bought it a month ago.

If laptop was bought a month ago, it may still be covered by store exchange policy. If so, just take it back to store for exchange. If you bought it with a credit card, it may also be covered by the credit card company for its exchange or repair. Also, if you bought an extended warranty when you did the purchase, it will cover not only repair but also replacement should repair not be possible. Finally, there is the manufacturer's warranty which typically is for one year from the date of purchase but you likely will have to ship at your expense to manufacturer's designated repair site.

If you choose to continue troubleshooting yourself, here are possible freezing causes...
1. hard disk drive has defective sectors (not likely but possible which is why there is exchange)
2. virus infection (pc usually come with a firewall and antivirus which you must activate)
3. conflict between two firewalls, two antivirus or two spyware/malware programs (suppose to only run one of each but often an antivirus program includes features like an internet security suite.)

will not play....Charter Security says "malicious code found in file C, infection SDBot.gen9

Hi,
You have a backdoor worm/virus that's infected your machine.
If you use WinXP click on the start menu and click on the run box, in the box type mrt.exe and hit the enter key, Microsoft's malicious removal tool window will pop up and you can scan and delete and malicious software from C drive, in the options part have it scan the whole computer, be patient as it will take some time to complete.

If its Vista you use scan the computer with your antivirus software.

Good luck
