Dryer Not Drying

Here are a few more things to look at:

Sometimes blower wheels will get loose in dryers. Sometimes they will get a whole lump of lint in them or you can hear a rattling noise in the dryer, this is the blower wheel, its worn out and it can cause the fuse to blow too,or it can half *** work and take fifty forever's to dry the clothes.Or it could be just that the dryer needs a good blowing out .I use a lawn blower to get all the lint out of the dryer as well as the vent pipe and vent to outside. I take the filter HOUSING out and wash it also. That is, I remove the housing and clean is good! Making sure that the dryer is properly flowing air is a good thing!

Air flow in the duct work is restricted... and the dryer sensor thinks that the filter is clogged.

You will need to take a fluffy cleaning wand and, with the filter removed, try loosening up some of the accumulated line in the duct.

Next, remove the lint pipe from the wall connector and try cleaning it and the pipe for as much distance as you can reach.

Finally, go outside and check the vent. It needs to be clean and clear of obstructions... also, needs to close when the machine is off.
You can do testing on the outside vent with "air dry" setting - hot air is not required... Keep cleaning ductwork until the outside vent passes air freely.

After air flow is restored, the sensor in the "VENT" alarm will act nice.....and stay off

your dryer is likely clogged up with lint .. that would be after the lint filter .. the pipe that carries the hot air out is usually completely clogged after that long .. it and the dryer itself (down inside) has to be cleaned about once a year to keep it tip top .. hopefully you can find someone that can take it apart and clean everythiing .. that should get you back to like new performance .. or you could call a few handymen to see what they would charge to clean the lint from your dryer and stack .. or if you are handy there is a special big brush with a string attached .. you pull that thru the stack to clean it .. use a vacuum cleaner to get inside the dryer vent (you can see in the vent when you take the hose off .. excessive lint buildup not only greatly reduces your dryers efficiency but is a fire hazzard as well ..

Expect to pay $30 for the kit. it's a 279816 and will take some level of mechanical and technical ability to locate it and affect the repair. This kit addresses 2 issues and should be installed by a certified technician. Your owners manual has a big WARNING!!! block saying what not to do, like Don't use plastic or foil venting. But nobody reads manuals anyway. Most likely you have an aluminum foil colored accordian style vent pipe. That's what caused your thermostats to burn out. Get your drier checked out by a certified tech for safety. Afterwards, keep that vent, clean clean clean and install a sure vent from Whirlpool 4396028. 16,000 homes each year have fires from improperly vented driers according to the U.S. Dept of Consumer Safety.

Your prof. vent cleaner failed to do his job. Ther is a definite restriction in the vent from point A to B, The prof is in the test u performed. You need a straight shot from the dryer to the outside using a class A 4"vent line and a dryer exhaust hood at the termination point,then your problem will be resolved...
