Tip & How-To about Frigidaire Refrigerators
First, empty the freezer. you will need to store frozen items for about 1 hour. then, remove the drawer and 2 bottom shelves. remove lower panel at the back of the freezer by removing 4 screws. you will see the drain collection pan. ice has probably formed in the drain line leading from the drain collection pan to the evaporator panel underneath the unit. wire or pipe cleaners are no help because the line has several curves. you must allow the line to defrost. hot water might help a little. after everything stopped dripping, i used an old blow dryer to speed things up. to make sure the line is draining, remove the kick plate at the front on the unit. in the right front corner is the evaporator pan. using a flashlight, you can see the white drain outlet over the evaporator pan. using a turkey baster, pour a little water in the drain collection pan. if the line is free, water will be pouring out the drain outlet. use a 50/50 bleach water solution to flush out any gunk that might have collected in the line.
