2008 328i battery change warning

Make sure you hook a battery charger to the posts under the hood before you change out your battery. Otherwise the car loses all data, has to be flashed, recoded for the new aftermarket battery if that's what you bought and re-registered to the car. Believe me, it's much cheaper just to have the dealer install a new one. This is not all BMW's but some of them require this attention.

F the starter is not working immediately then 5 minutes is too long.Instant chargers are designed to supply the battery with 12 volts to get current flowing through the system. If the battery is faulty then nothing will happen neither will the instant charger start the car.

HOW DO YOU GET TO THE BATTERY TO CHANGE IT IN A 2004 INTREPID
Under the hood should be a Jump start /charging post that is connected to the battery. Look on the pass side for rubber caps that cover a brass post. Hook up your charger here, Red is positive, Black is the ground side or just hook the ground to any solid metal part of the engine.

I would recommend hooking the charger up right to the battery which is located in the trunk under the carpet.
You can hook up the charger under the hood to the remote jumper postivie post and to any ground. If I remember correctly there is a strut bolt right next to the remote positive post.
Either way will work but I'd go with the first one.
