Print a couple of pages. As the printer is printing open the toner cover. Pull the toner cartridge out and look down at the paper. If the printing looks good the fuser probably needs replacing. Before doing that, have you checked the toner cartridge.
It may be the fuser, but if it is really it, then you should be able to notice some spots/lines that are there all the time, no matter what you print. I'd go for a magnetized corona, that fails to demagnetize the transfer roller. Open up the printer, get to the print assembly and try demagnetizing the transfer corona (there should be a plastic bezel that slides along the rollers), or if nothing else then get some aluminum foil wrap it alongside the roller and touch the foil onto a metal part of the printer, to get it to ground the electric potential buildup. Or it could also be the brushes that scrub the transfer roller clean from the
residue toner. See if the excess toner tank is full. If it is full then
it's the corona. If it's not full and you can see toner dust all over
the printer then it's the brushes that fail to scrub off the toner in
time. Either case, you may be looking at a new print assembly purchase real soon.
Hi, Dots, Lines, shadows
and smudges on the printouts are due to dirty/ deteriorating cartridge and
cleaning the green drum of the cartridge may help temporarily. Take out
the cartridge and gently clean the roller/ green drum with a dry, soft,
lint-free cloth wiping off the toner dots marks/ lines. Also,
make sure that the visible inside of the printer is clean and ther is
no spilled toner inside, which sometimes results in dots. Double printing is also due to the deteriorating cartridge. The drum is not getting clean after its each rotation and hence the remaining toner/ image is transferred to the paper resulting in double printing. So, it is recommended that clean the drum etc (this would help temporarily). Also, make sure that the toner cartridge is in good working condition. If not you may replace the cartridge. Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
GoodLuck! Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help! CreativeTECH
Check the toner cartridge. When they get old, they may leak. Also you mentioned double printing. do you mean ghost images on the same sheet? That would point to the toner also. If the toner is not the problem, it may be the fuser. They get toner on them and when the fuser roll turns, it deposits images on the paper.
