Tip & How-To about HTC G1

SD Card issues

If having issues with your SD card and camera.  Copy all files to your PC and reformat the card.   Then transfer any necessary files back to the SD card from your PC.  If you continue to have issues I recommend buying a new SD card.

The best way to transfer pictures from a camera with an SD memory card is to do it outside the camera. If your computer does not have an SD card reader built in, you can buy an external USB card reader for $20 or less on E-bay, Amazon, etc. Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it in the card reader. Your computer will treat the card reader and SD card just like it treats an external hard drive. Either drag-n-drop or copy and paste your pictures from the SD card file to a file on your hard drive. If after you have copied and backed up your files you want to reformat your SD card, replace it in the camera and format it in the camera, not in the computer. SD cards formatted in a computer will often not work in your camera because of slight differences in the formatting.

i cannot transfer picture to memory card how?

Connected the camera with the USB cable at pc, open Explorer pc program to view like a "external device", select your files and copy/paste en each folder.

Other way could be using some external device to your SD Card.

I transferred movies files stored in SD card into a notebook, and deleted the entire movies from the card. subsequently, I copies these files back into SD card and inserted it into my Camcorder again (Canon Legria FS200), however, the camcorder could not detect the files at all. I have copied these movies file into a sub folder SD_VIDEO\PRG001, and I have also copied PRG001.PGI into it. What have gone wrong?

Are you sure the files are transferred to the sd card. With some camcordes you can transfer files back and forth, you can only copy the to your pc... unplug and plug it in again and check if the files are still there if aren't use a sd card reader to transfer these files back to your cam. But if the files are on the sd card and your camera still doesn't read them, try recording a new movie, see where it's located, does it have a seperate folder and try doing the same with your org movie. I hope it helps. :)

SD card

Once connected to your PC you can copy virtually any file to the SD card and transport it home. However, in doing so you do risk the possibility that the camera may not be able to properly display the existing images on its LCD screen. The files won't be damaged, so they can be manually copied to the PC afterwards. In a similar situation, .JPG images you obtain from other sources can be coped to the SD card for temporary storage, but the camera may not display them properly. In any of the above cases when a problem is experienced, manually copy the files to te PC anf reformat the SD card IN THE CAMERA.
