Tip & How-To about HTC G1

Can't sync music to your G1

T-Mobile is issuing an over the air upgrade for all G1 phones to correct a software problem not allowing music files to sync properly using Windows Media player.

The best solution for now is to remove the memory card from the phone. Install it into a SD card adaptor and insert it into a card reader. Windows Media will sync playlists to your memory card properly using this procedure.

When i connect my mobile with pc through pc studio it says unregistered model . and i dont know how to update phone software using kies as i connect internet on pc through mobile phone and kies do not allow internet connection what should i do

First thing is you need the latest version of the Samsung interface software so the phone is properly recognized by the computer for syncing
Here is a link to that software for windows :

https://www.solvusoft.com/en/update/drivers/mobile-phone/samsung/gsm-2g/gt-c3303/model-numbers/

For updating the phones software itself :
Go to menu / settings / system upgrades/ check new version
- hope that helps :)

how do i transfer music from my pc to my android

Install the software that came with your Android or if Windows XP and above can see your Android use Windows Media Player (see notes below for Windows 7)
Sync music, pictures, contacts, and calendars with a mobile device
There are two ways to sync a mobile phone, portable music player, or other mobile device with your computer. You can install the sync software that many manufacturers include with their devices, or you can use the new Device Stage feature in this version of Windows if your device supports this feature.
Device Stage lets you sync music, contacts, calendars, and other files and information with a compatible mobile device. It also allows you to perform other device-related tasks that vary depending on the device, such as creating ringtones for a mobile phone. What files and information you can sync depends on the type of device you have and what it supports. For example, you may be able to sync contacts and calendars with a smartphone, but not with a portable music player.
To see which types of files and information you can sync with your device, connect the device to your computer. If your device is compatible with Device Stage, this feature will open automatically. (If you've already set up your device to sync, Device Stage will open, but it will appear minimized on your Windows taskbar.) Device Stage will list various tasks you can perform with your device, including sync setup.

Notes
  • Device Stage is customized for each device by the manufacturer of that device, and displays different options for different devices. If you have more than one device connected to your computer, you can have more than one instance of Device Stage open at the same time.
  • To find out if a device will work with Device Stage, you can also check with the manufacturer or look at the device specifications. For a mobile phone, music player, digital camera, or other mobile device to work with Device Stage, the manufacturer must add compatible software (also called firmware) to the device.

how do you download photos from G1 to laptop?

Step 1: Plug in your USB cable to your G1 T-mobile phone as well as the computer.
Step 2: On your G1 T-mobile phone you will see a small icon at the top of the screen that symbols the USB.
Step 3: Pull down the notification window down and click on USB Connection.
Step 4: Automatically on your laptop computer or just computer a window will pop up giving you the option of importing pictures and copying them or just viewing them.

These steps are the correct steps.....T-mobile G1 technical support has not yet modify these steps or include them on the T-mobile G1 manual.

can not down load my own music

when you plug the phone into your pc using the USB cable an alert appears at the top of your phone notifying you of the USB connection. Slide the alert open and click on the "USB connected Select to copy files to/from your computer" alert. It gives you the option to mount the drive. Click on "Mount" - once you mount the drive. Open your file browser on your PC and the phone should be mounted as a flash drive. Click on the drive, you should be able to see all of the folders on your SD card including the folder containing your music.

G! aim

there have been a few problems with the IM service on the G1 Phone, (which is understandable with it being a completely being a new OS platform and also new phone hardware) T-Mobile and Google have just released an OTA (Over the Air) Firmware update which will be automatically downloaded to your phone within the next week or so. you will get a message appear on your phone asking you to accept the Update. with this update there are upgrades to the IM features making it faster and more reliable, and in your case. making the AIM part of the software work correctly !
