To download the FMS flight sim go to this site http://n.ethz.ch/student/mmoeller/fms/index_e.html With windowsXP and earlier it will work fine.
BUT If you use vista you will need to also add this file to your computer "d3drm.dll" go to http://www.driverskit.net/dll/get/494.html to download the file. Then put it in your C:\Windows\System32 folder on your computer. It wont work until you do this. Good luck.

Some users running Windows Windows 7 or Vista are experiencing problems with the FMS program. When the program is launched the following error message is displayed "D3DRM.DLL is not loaded"


D3DRM.DLL is Direct3D Retained Mode, an older graphics display technology from 1997 that was removed from Windows 7 and Vista.


The good news is that it's a pretty simple procedure to get it put back into Vista. The CD that we included has the newest stable version of FMS (Version 2.0 Beta 7). So just install that from the installer CD as you normally would following the on screen instructions. If you have already installed it, read on - there is no need to re-install it.

Now you will need to download the D3DRM.DLL. Open the Zip file and then copy D3DRM.DLL to the FMS directory. By default your FMS directory will be located C:\Program Files\FMS\

The easiest way to do this is to double click on the d3drm.zip file, it will open a small window with d3drm.dll in it. This is the file we have to copy - just keep this window open for now.

Next click "start", then "run". Now type "c:" without the quotes, and press enter. It will open the Explorer application, in the right pane you should see Program Files, Double click on it. Then you should see FMS, Double click on it. This is where you need to copy d3drm.dll

To copy the file simply drag and drop the d3drm.dll from the window we left open before to the FMS directory, be sure to drop it in a empty white area and not on another folder inside that window.

That's it, FMS should run perfectly now.

Try checking if the manufacturer has a web site. (I could only find sites that were selling the product.) Otherwise, this seems to have drivers for XP and before. You can try running the installer and other programs in the XP compatability mode. (Right click on the exe and choose Properties, then select the Compatability tab. Check the box for Run program in compatability mode and select XP from the drop-down menu). Then right click on the installer again and choose Run as Administrator.

If you have Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate, there is another work-around. Download and install the two programs that create Microsoft's XP mode. Install the device in the virtual XP computer that is now on your computer. (You no longer need a CPU that handles virtualization to do this.)
