Look for a tiny cross head screw then look for a small cross head screwdriver! ;-)

That will open a compartment that you need to put 2 AA batteries in.

Don't open the triangular screws - you will have tiny cog wheels all over the floor!

Try forcing a tiny hex screwdriver in the triangular hole.

Almost certainly a lose wire that you can solder back.

A great sense of achievement will result given that you didn't have to buy another one from China and trash yours!

So annoying that Brio have to use these screws given how flaky their toys are - they are almost designed to fail as the wires are so short they break quite quickly.

There is a screw down deep inside the chimney. Unscrew it and it slides off.

There is a battery down deep in the steam spout on top (black chimney type thing). Unscrew it and it slides off the front and allows you to insert 2 AAA batteries.

There is a small screw hole on top of the train, down inside what looks to be the smoke stack.  Then insert 2 AAAs!
