LeapFrog Leapster Learning Game System - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
When we touch the screen nothing happens - changed
This is usually cause by extremly hard impact which can dislodge the contacts between the Screen and its mating contact on the circuit board. This requires opening the device and attaching/repositioning the connector, whilst the divice is open you should place a small amount of hot glue on the outer part of the contact to prevent it moving. DO NOT use solvent based adhesives or super glue as this will severly damage the device. If this does not solve your problem contat me on
[email protected] and I will try to assist you further.

My daughter has a Leapster 2 that is only about 2
Answer
I had the same problem and here is the answer I found
at leapfrog.com which fixed my daughter’s disney princess leapster 2’s
problem. Good luck!
If your Leapster2 does not respond to the stylus pen, it needs to be calibrated. Calibrating the Leapster2 is easy:
1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted
2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to
hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER menu appears.
3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button
4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus
5) Restart unit

Put new batteries and it won't come on
There are a number of possible reasons your toy may have stopped working. Sometimes it helps to clean the battery compartment with a dry cotton swab or cloth. Rub the gold contacts inside the battery compartment to release any dust or film. You can also use an eraser to 'erase' and clean the contacts. Once you have cleaned the contacts, please make sure to install new non-rechargeable batteries before turning your unit on.
If the toy still does not work, it may have been dropped or handled improperly

Leapreader won't turn off
Try pressing the on/off button to turn it off. I had a same problem. I depressed the on/off button for ~6 second or so and the device turned off. When I turned on again, the LeapReader no longer had a white light and was recognized by my computer.
