Leapster explorer cartridge won't fit
You have to make sure it is compatible. There are different types of Leapsters. Leapster 1 and 2, Leapster GS, Leapster Explorer and Leappad. Take it back to the store they may give you a refund or store credit.

How do I get the batter cover off a Leapster?!?!?!?!?
OK, after nearly breaking my daughter's leapster I have figured it out.
Use the coin and twist the little screw up. Then with the screw part closest to your chest, SLIDE the cover off AWAY from your chest. The batteries are located on the undercarriage of the cover. It takes "4" AA's
Hope this helps everyone!!!

Will not come on
You must get all of the acid completely neutralized and removed - from all around the springs and everything. Sometimes there is just a bit remaining that you can't see. Try q-tips dipped in vinegar. Make sure it is completely dry, then try all new batteries. (if any of the acid was left it may have compromised the last set of batteries you tried) Good luck!

Leapfrog leapster unit was left
Try letting it dry...maybe the sun if it is out. If not, just leave it in your house for a while. Even if it may seem dry on the outside and nothing is "leaking", there could be some moisture left in there. If that doesn't work, then your unit may be completely fried.Hope that helps ^_^

Question mark appears on screen
- Try calibrating the screen
- Turn the Leap Pad off.
- Now hold the question mark button for two seconds and then power the until on while still holding the question mark button down.
- The unit will power on and when you see the "calibration Screen" you can release the question mark button.
- Touch the crosshairs with the stylus and a large crosshair icon will appear in the middle of the screen.
- Touch this icon with the stylus and this will bring up the screen calibration procedure.
- Touch all 5 crosshairs as the appear.
- Press the "B" button to exit after completing the calibration.

Tony

When you press your name
Welcome to Fixya
The screen needs to be re-calibrated if the stylus pen is not responding. Please see procedure below:
1) Ensure that a cartridge is not inserted
2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER menu appears.
3) When the LEAPSTER menu screen appears, press the A button
4) Touch each of the crosshairs that appear with the stylus
5) Restart unit

We have a Leapster 2
I posted a solution to this problem a couple months ago. We have the Cars edition of the Leapster2. I'm guessing it was the same problem that we were having. When the pen touched the screen there was no response and the unit had barely been used. Try this!! I found it on
www.ehow.com.
Callibration
If you touch your stylus pen to the screen of your Leapster2 and it does not respond, your unit needs to be calibrated. To do this, make sure no game cartridge is in the unit. Turn the unit on while you are holding down the "Hint" or "?" button. Keep holding the button down until the Leapster2 menu appears. You will need to turn off the unit and repeat these steps if you do not see the menu. When the menu comes onto the screen, press the "A" button and use the stylus pen to touch each of the crosshairs as they appear. When you are done, your unit should be properly calibrated.
