The range of possible root causes is huge, it is almost impossible to tell exactly what might be the problem. Before getting the device to Sony for check, i would simply try to reinstall the Operation system on the phone with the help of a pc software called Sony Update Service. This is my only guess or advise.
Did you check restarting your device? It happened with me also but the restart worked fine. If this does not work then try to put other sim card and check. If it happens again try resetting your device.
If you are connected to the internet (via Wi-fi or your mobile data), you can access your phone after a few unsuccessful attempts by typing the password from the Google account assocciated with the phone (it will prompt that option). This may be a problem with your cellular network more than your phone. You can take your phone in to an authorized Apple dealer to check on the problem just to make sure that it isn't your phone giving trouble.
