I f you are referring to the kids toy gator there is one nut on the front axle that can be loosened

just pull the red lever behind the seat

sounds like you have a bad motor, try disconnecting one of the motors and then try it again

check the fuse on the battery

could you please expand a little on when you say its broken? lots of these are assembled wrong with the rear black plastic pieces on backwards

do you mean the shifter physically won't move into those positions, or once its in those positions it doesn't engage the motors

is there anything that is causing the wires to bind or come loose when its put back in

check the battery with a multimeter and verify that it is showing at least 12 volts, also shake the battery a little and if it sounds like there is sand in there then its dried up
