on the gator only one wheel spins in first gear, will not run in second gear nor in reverse
you have a bad motor, you can order a new one here www.powerwheelsoutlet.com

Our kids John Deere Gator won't run despite the battery full charged. Before I replace the expensive battery, is there anything else we should look at? It's about 3 yrs old.
first of all check for at least 12 volts from the battery and the charger, you can test this using a multimeter, if the battery doesn't show any volts, lift up one side of the blue plastic housing on the top and verify that both the positive and negative wires are plugged in

where can i get a rubber tires for a Peg Perego John Deere Gator HPX 12 Volt Ride on Toy?
the whole tire would be difficult to replace with a rubber one, but you can put bmx tires on the plastic wheels and that will give much greater traction, but shorten the life of the gearboxes. here is a link to how to do it.

Our son's peg perego john deere gator stopped working and we thought it was the battery so we bought a new battery. We charged the new battery for 24 hours and hooked it up to the gator but it still gave no life. Is there a reset botton on the gator? With a new battery i would think it would show signs of being charged and at least turn on but we are getting nothing. Any suggestions?
It is most likely the Gearbox, it is easy to find and easy to replace. It is right under the gear shifter and is a "harness" with wires that will need replaced, if you call the tech support for Peg Perego they are very helpful and will get you on the right track. Your old battery is most likely fine, but keep it until you fix the gearbox switch. Afterward (when gator is again operational) I would imagine you could return the new battery since you really should not need it. Peg Perego support is 1800-728-2108 and you can also look for parts at www.mypegperegoparts.com

We have a Peg Perego John Deere tractor that won't go. We've tried recharging the battery but it still doesn't work. The last time it was used, my son was repeatedly pushing the accelerator quickly and it just stopped working.
check the battery with a multimeter and make sure you are getting at least 12 volts, if its not showing any voltage one of the wires from under the plastic housing has become disconnected, if it is showing voltage but not 12 volts recharge it then check it again after about 12 hours and make sure it is showing 12 volts, if it isn't check your charger with a multimeter and make sure that its putting out at least 13.8 volts, if it is then you have a bad battery

If the images are too small you can find them online (as well as replacement parts & manuals from a Peg Perego service center) here: http://peg-peregoparts.com/diagram.php?num=IGOD0055

how do you adjust the seat
you have to flip the gator on its side then you will see four red knobs underneath loosen those and then move the seat to the desired position then tighten the knobs
