When DEI first rolled them out they had a lot of issues. No formal "recalls" but there is a lifetime warranty on the brain and one yr for remotes. In your box there should be a warranty card, give them a call and they tell you what they need to exchange it.

You may have lock out the remotes. If that doesn't work DEI has a one yr gurantee on remotes. In your box there should be a registration card. Call them.

This sounds like a bad fuse. The fuse is likely under the dash below on the driver side. Look up under the dash below the steering wheel and confirm location. The fuses will either be plugged into the module or as in line fuses coming out of the unit.

They will not warranty it cause it is called "wear and tear" caused by using it, try going back to where you bought it. If you get a new one they have little leather protectors for them like the cellphone wraps that you see. Mostly likely you'll have to pay for a new one, and I know there not cheap!

I have read recently that the 5701 requires horn honk for programming, can't use the LED anymore on the new units... Also want to make sure it's in Automatic transmission mode... I believe they come out of the box programmed in manual transmission mode...

I would have to recommend doublechecking all the connections of your installation; there may have been something you've overlooked.

Assuming all your connects are good, maybe you ought to drop by an install bay that has a bitwriter.

No there is No correlation between the two, I can assure you of that. Fuel Pumps going faulty, is usually due to a bad earth, on the actual unit, also a snubber network, or even a capacitor across the terminals is always a good addition too. Make sure the Power to the FP, is direct and has NO joins, look for a fault in another place, this remote start is OK. But check all the logical things. Also some Pumps are just rubbish, make sure you are getting real parts and Not counterfeit. just a thought. .Also pumps hate being run dry,or overrun, or when not a lot of fuel is kept in the tank, as if it is low, going round corners may temporarily expose it, and thats when it can damage.

Hi, you can easily program the Viper 5701 with the Bitwriter or with the command console. I am not sure you can get the bitwriter bought separately, it has to come together with the viper in the pack.
When trying to program with the command console, you have to follow the instruction manual.

the bottom button is for function shift, and is used (with aux button) to activate certain functions (add on optional features like trunk pop, window roll up/down, rear defroster, etc--all depend on car and install) or by itself for status updates (interior temp check-press once, release, press and hold; remaining runtime-press and release three times, press and hold; lock status-press and release twice, press and hold). it is also used with lock and unlock for silent arm/disarm, and also to enter valet mode.

hi did you get this unit from ebay? i am going through the same experience right now and there is a problem with the early units that were manufactured. It will need to be replaced. I am currently trying to get a refund.

sounds like the remots have lost two way communication. try to disconnect the windsheild antenna.try remotes again after pluging antenna back in.

Hi, I've following this thread and researching possible solutions. Have you conacted or viewed Direct @ http://support.directed.com ? i have found info on other sites that state they are aware of a remote problem for your sustem. At this point, we are adding resistors to circuits to modify a factory engineered electronic device??? I am almost certain that the problem with your alarm system and diagnostics to resolve your issue are beyond the scope of this site.
Call Direct or email them...It should save you a lot of time.

I had the exact same problem. Disconnect your vehicle battery for 30 minutes. That fixed it for me.

You must change the doors trigger connection if you have a negative input change it to positive input or vise versa and try. I’m sure that this is going to end your problems or the smart way is, take it back to Best Buy

sounds like you need to double check which wires you have tapped into.
