Well if you are tied to a particular network all you have to do is to unlock your phone to use it any other GSM network. You can get the unlock code through online. Give your IMEI number & get the unlock code for ur mobile .............You also get through online..........I will suggest the website Unlock-Zone.com which is doing good service .....you can approach this website.

I believe this could be a battery,well we have the same phone and all process you take note sounds like it was my problem before.

Why is this things happening?

Battery can be easily damage due to improper usage like charging the phone while calling,listening to music,browsing etc. two current supply is entering your phone simultaneously. One is coming from the battery powered and the other is coming on the dc charger.the result, it will make your battery deform.

Just replace it a new one and for sure it will be fine again.But please avoid or minimized using your phone while on charge.To be able to preserve your battery life for long time usage.

You just need to encode the settings of your service provider once.as long you are using it with out any problem in software,you can use any sim you want.but if the phone have been corrupted and need to format or reset.the previous settings that you've made will be erase and again you need to set another network provider settings to activate using gmail log in.

First off, you need to un-freeze your unit by taking the battery out and then putting it back in. You had the right idea in restoring the factory settings. You may want to try it again. Here is the recommended way of doing it: -Hold the HOME and POWER keys at the same time for about 20 seconds. -Press Alt+L after you see the Warning screen ( Yellow triangle with an Exclamation Point ) -Press Alt+W to do a factory reset. -Press the HOME and BACK keys again for 20 seconds to complete the hard reset.
If the problem still persists, you may need to contact the person who unlocked your phone and get the password from him. I hope it does not come to that. Good luck, I hope everything works out for you.

It's in the maps program under settings. Once it's activated you will get a warning message about the battery life going down when in use but it should deactivate once you are off of Google maps. You will see a satellite dish icon on the upper part of the screen once it is on.


It's works better in mapping mode than satellite mode as well. Due to the amount of time it takes to redraw the screen.

It can be microphone problem that is why the person you're trying to talked can't hear you,some can be done on software programming,other can be fix it by replacing the mic component. But i prefer to use your warranty card and get free charge of it,or if its no HTC service center near you,try to ask assistance to any mobile service shop preferably.DIY is not advisable for android phones,you might brake something and fixing this type of mobile is to complicated.

hi it will be helpful for me to guide you the exact place if you had specified the country from where you brought the mobile.however you can get the codes from here unlocking4u here they ask the imei number of your mobile and finally they will send you the unlock codes as soon as possible.

try hard reset to original factory settings will get back. at it will ask for sim unlock code when you enter am invalid sim.

the mobile requires a service with solution dipped in liquid, as few resisitors and capcitors might have been still corrosive, i think you please leave the phone without battery in room temp of 26-30 deg ... for a day or two...

You don't actually need installation software for a windows computer. Just use the supplied USB cord to the computer and go through the wizard.

I see that you are having issues with you HTC G1.

You mentioned that it still vibrates but that is a function on the baterry, you mentioned that you do not see anything on the LCD screen anymore at this point, If I may ask how long ago did your HTC g1 fall in the water? letting it sit down for a couple days and have it dry may not be an option to see if it will work or not, also having to turn it ON and not sure if the insides are already dry is as well not advisable turning the unit ON may cause the system to short if it is still wet from the inside.

I suggest that you bring the unit to a local service center that can service your HTC G1, the unit may already have experienced a short on the LCD the reason why you do not see anything on it at all.

I do not have details nor the manual to repair or open your HTC not even online.

It is not working because it is locked. The phone when locked can not work on other network or in other countries. What you have to do ? Go to the company service center. They can unlock the phone. If there is a good and advanced mobile repairing center then you can go there also. But if your phone is in warranty period then you should go to service center of the company as htey will give service free of charge. If you have deleted android application then no problem. They can install it again. Or you can also install by downloading it from net.Touch screen is not working because of the absense of its application. After the installation it will again work smoothly.

Can you take the battery out? wait for 15 seconds and put it back. Check it work or not.
If not, can you do the soft reset? the is the reset button on HTC.

Try the following steps:

1. Turn the G1 off. If it's frozen on, take the battery out and put it back in the unit.
2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle.
Now to wipe the device clean:
3. Press Alt+L.
4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset.
5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds.

The device should then reset again and the hard reset is complete.

I don't think there is a service center in Manila since all retailers will tell you that they have to send the phone to Singapore for any problem.

Since you are rooted, you can load a custom ROM that has ringtones. A popular ROM for the G1 is Cyanogenmod. An easier way to get ringtones onto the phone, however, is to simply put whatever video and ringtones you want onto a microSD card and load it into the G1. Once you load the microSD card, the ringtones will be available in Settings -> Sounds and the Videos will show up in the Video application.
