You need to call your service provider and get your Personal Unlock Code. Then they will send a signal to the phone to ask for the code and you have to enter it in order for your SIM card to be unlocked. Hope this helps :)

I wanted to unlock my G1 i recently purchased on ebay and I was not aware that its simlocked. I googled for almost half a day and I found that its impossible to unlock G1 any free method. There is many sites offering codes but most of them looked very unprofessional but at least some looked ok to me. I gave a try to FastGSM. Their service was amazing! I got code in less then 15 minutes and its price was just 20 usd. Some other sites was asking double money for same job.

when you hook the cable up your computer will auto detect it and pop up a menu asking you what you would like to do. you will then say copy files and direct the location they go to. If you do not get this popup look inside your my computer icon and it should give you a drive letter with name of your phone. select that and drag photos over

HOpe you did the hard reset by pressing and holding home +power and then alt+w .
Does pressing and holding camera and power gives you the bootloader ( Hboot ) screen . IF yes , try reset from there .

G1 is an american branded phone ( GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) , It wont work on all service providers across the world .. You might want to put another service providers sim card ...

Open the back where the battery is. It should be inside there. It might take a micro SD card, not regular size. Hope this helps you.

Try hard resetting it once. But make sure you have enough charge. But this will erase everything.

To perform a Hard Reset

1. Turn the phone off. If it is frozen, take the battery out and put it back in.
2. Hold the Home and Power keys down at same time for about 25 seconds. You will see a yellow triangle screen with exclamation point in the middle.
3. Press Alt+L.
4. Press Alt+W for a factory reset.
5. Press the Home and Back keys again for about 25 seconds.
