The digitizer runs around $40. If HTC doesn't help you, here's a guide on how to disassemble an HTC G1. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you. If you want to pay to have a service do it for you there are third party HTC Repair Services.

1. 1st OF ALL, YOU WILL HAVE TO UNSCREW THE PHONE
2. THEN YOU WILL REMOVE THE BAD LOUDSPEAKER
3. THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO GET A NEW LOUDSPEAKER @ ANY PHONE REPAIR SHOP
4. THEN FIX THE NEW LOUDSPEAKER IN THE PHONE

there must be the display gets damaged in your phone. change the touch display of your mobile screen and format the phone this will able you to fix this problem.. just change the display screen of your mobile..

First, sim cards require compartibility with each phone brands. Second, insertimng the cim cards wrongly would least be recognised as fucntional. Third, inserting a new sim card would require powering off completely the device. A power on thereafter should reacquire the new system feature functionalities.

i think the sensor on the keybord is the sensor on the screen and it has ben stripped to it's natureal state of the screen is off, you might be stuck but you should try craigslist and hope.and just email anyone that's selling anyone a cellphone screen or taking apart a phone and telll them your problem, and use paypal.

As far as I know free codes does not unlock your phone, so even if you would find a unlock code or whatever you'd have to spend some money.
I would recommend the Unlock-Zone.com site is nearly perfect and they were recommended highly in the cell phone forums.
I used them to unlock my cell phone. contacted them and within 30 mins i had my unlock code and my phone was unlocked.

Sometimes its dirt that gets into the cracks. I fixed my Black Jack 2 and BlackBerry track ball with good ol WD40. I made sure the battery is removed, phone off, and then i sprayed a lil amount of WD40 on the problem area. Pushed the buttons until the sprayed solution evaporated. Dont worry, WD40 will not cause ur electronics to rust. Hope that solves your problem.

Fastest way to resolve is to make certain (under settings > connect to pc) that you have it set to storage device. power on the g1, then hold menu , some setting will pop up, you will find apn in that, just type your apn( acess point name) you received from your operator, if you dont know your operators apn call customer care of your mobile operator and ask setting for windows or android mobiles, they will give you many settings, just take apn leave user name and password blank save it before exiting.
you should have your problem solved

try a hard reset......hold power and menu buttons togather to get phone reset menu....follow on screen directions and choose full system reset/restore.......

OMG MINES TOO, den a few weeks later, it stays blk,it only works somtime wen i keep [pressing] random buttons but now it stays pitch blk , :( but as for now since ur phone is actin like tht before it gets worst, reboot ur phone by turnin it off, then hold on to the power/end button nd da home button at the same time for at least 15 sec. then a rebooting sign will come on, tht shud fix ur phone for the mean time .

1) Turn Off the Phone
2) Remove Battery
3) Remove Sim Card
4) Put battery and sim card again
5) Turn On the phone
6) Press Menu
7) Factory Data Reset (Remember that: This action will reset the phone to its initial factory state, erasing all data and wonloaded applications, so BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP first you try this).
Press "reset phone"
HARD RESET
1) Turn off the Phone
2) Press HOME + POWER KEYS (keep them holding for about 25 secs)
until you see a screen with a phone and a triangle.
then
3) SLIDE YOUR KEYBOARD TO OPEN IT
4) press ALT + l ( TO SHOW YOU OPTIONS)
5) Press ALT + W ( TO FORMAT ALL DATA)
Note: When I write the sign + you don't have to press the + sign, it means that you need to press both keys @ the same time.
Note2: Don't do this if you don't have a Data Plan or your 2G or 3G is not working, why? because you will not be able to sign in again without a working Data Plan (2g / 3g).

i had to the same problem when i purchased mine for a garage sale.. turn your phone off then hit the home button and the power button at the same time hold for 20 seconds let go of both you should have a ! and triangle open the keyboard and hit alt and w and it resets ur phone

Factory resetting your phone does not delete the contents in your microSD card.

How ere you accessing your email. from desktop or PC. try to do it from your phone. you could install opera mini and access your emailed link from within opera mini browser. post for followup
