WHAT IS THE FEATURE KEY
It's a way to access many features. Program a speed button-Feature Redial, program DND- Feature 60, check what port you're on Feature 3 or 4. Easy to find a user manual online, just type in your phone system type, user guide, then PDF. Don't put in your phone type, those phones work on a dozen different systems.
How do i turn off the Night Mode
From one of the 2 main reception phones, press Feature 80 Feature , on a ProII, an Elite, and an IPK. For the other systems that use this phone you're best off finding the phone that has a night button assigned.
My NEC Dterm Series E 16D-1 does not display the MUTE feature
Sir, a co-worker with this phone has the same problem, i have a fund the users manual for the phone and the code to turn on/off the mic is Feature then the number 1. for her the mic button lights up when the phone is off. meaning no one can hear her. the link for the users guide is.

Message light is continually blinking red
You apparently have unheard messages on the voicemail system provided by your telephone company. This system records messages when someone calls while you're already on the phone. Please contact your telephone company for instructions on accessing their voicemail system.
How do i change the hold music
It depends on the system type. some are built in and done through programming. others are connected viz an rca jack on side of the cpu cabinet. post what type of system you have.
How to change from lunch to day mode
These phones work on about 8 NEC systems, but for a PRO II, an Elite, and an IPK, the standard code is Feature,80, Feature from one of the two main reception extensions. Don't know the code for a 2000, 8100, or IPK II.
One of my phones stopped ringing on my nec dtu 16d phone
Ringing is assigned in system programming, very little chance it was changed by mistake. If Do-Not-Disturb was turned on, that could make a phone stop ringing. If it's just one line on a phone, maybe the system got put in night mode by mistake and night programming isn't identical to day ring. If you have direct access to the phone line check it for dial tone. Often virtual lines are used and you can't check for direct dial tone. On very rare occasion the ringer stops working, which can't be fixed.
How to program speed dials on DTU-16D-2
If the button is programmed as a feature button, then Feature, Redial, press the button to program, dial 1 for typical feature, dial extension you want on it, press Feature to write and exit. If the button isn't assigned for features, this won't work until someone goes into system programming and does that.
Is there a way to change the password on the phone system if you don't know the current password?
If you're talking about the voicemail for your extension, the person who is the voicemail administrator in your office can reset yours to whatever is default for your system. If you just got that ext and want to start fresh, and your ext doesn't own any additional mailboxes, have the administrator delete then re-add you mailbox, you'll be at default and can record your own name and greeting. If your ext owns extra mailboxes, don't delete the mailbox or the other mailboxes will also be deleted, such as the reception general mailbox, or the one that gives your companies greeting when someone calls at night. If your talking about the system programming password, that's typically a system tech thing and not given out.
