If you don't want it to ring at all you can set Do Not Disturb with Feature 85 and cancel it with Feature #85.

This can happen if two phones get plugged into the same line. Try swapping this phone into an extension with the same type of phone and see if the same thing happens, if it does, the phone is bad. I recently had a phone doing the same thing, replaced it and the extension was fine.

Feature 86 to turn background music on and Feature #86 to turn it off.

There are only two reasons I can think of for this to happen. 1- the mail box has not been initialized. 2- the mail box does not exist.

You should be able to simply RECORD over the previous message. On the device...look for RECORD and speak into the mouthpiece and that's it.

You will require the folks that program your Nortel system to come and make system level changes. You will need to ask them to give you the ability to put the system into day service, which will allow calls to come to your extension. Then switch the system into night service during the times that you are not available. This is done by dial a code which changes the path that calls go to. You will also need them to program the greeting for open, and closed. or Day/night service.

FEATURE 85 sets "Do Not Disturb", and to cancel any feature, add a # sign.

FEATURE # 85 will cancel it. :)

With the handset down, press feature *0 then press your intercom key. your extension number, name(if programmed) and port number will be displayed.press the release key when finished

I'm pretty sure CID is automatic on a CICS....IF you have a CID trunk card. You might want to post the part number on the face of the trunk and we'll see if it's the proper one.
