Mute speaker on M7310

I've had Nortel Norstar m7310 phones for years and the entire time that I've them, I've never used the speaker phone. I could hear them, they couldn't hear me. At this site, I figured out how to fix that and now the speaker phone works. It created another problem. For me to use the Called ID, I would have to press the line that was calling and I would see who it was that was calling. Now, when I do that, it immediately picks up the phone versus letting see who is calling. I want to be able to both see who is calling and use the speaker phone. Thanks.Parts For BMW

We have a Nortel Norstar M7310. Approximately ten

my recommendation is to put the same model phone at that station and see if it does the same thing. Its been almost ten years since I installed those systems, but I do remember that you can swap phones and locations as long as the phone model is the same. my guess is that the phone is broken somehow as those symptoms arent really a programming issue. The individual button programming stays with the location and not the phone, therefore you would have the exact same lines and programmed buttons if you could temporarily replace. hope this helps some

I have a Nortel M8X24-DS

Do you have stand alone phone or is it equipped with a forwarding / data system? I need model of answering system if you have it. Otherwise you should be able to set it up by reviewing owners manual. Is phone hooked up to computer also or just phone line?

I am new to this

Hi there, in regards to voicemail, many service providers have different ways of setting up voicemail ... most of them have different input types of codes which you can enter with your phone keypads. This will either activate or disactivate the voice mail. The best thing is to ring them up and ask them for this code. I can help you further but then I will need all your details of your phone provider and I think this will be a longer process than calling them. I hope this helps and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Good luck with that. Hope this helps.

I have a 7308M that

In an 824 or higher system, you can't program from a 7208. You need a 7310 or 7324 phone. You may also need to program it from extension 21(221).
