Vector ® Maxx SST 1200 - watt Power Inverter Questions & Answers
Bought a new vector maxxsst 1200 watt inverter
Inverter run on batteries sir, and if these batteries are not charged, the run time {the number of hours it will work} reduces.
S0, you will need to connect the inverter to a power source.Theses will allow your batteries to be charged and enable it to run for a long period of time.
Make sure your batteries are still OK.i.e working properly
Want to use this inverter to power various 220/240V devices
Hello,
This inverter's output is a modified sine wave, which works fine for many applications requiring 110 AC, but not all. Your transformer is one of the exceptions (any standard coil & core transformer will have this problem). You might be able to find an electronic transformer that will work well using a modified sine wave input. I have never seen one, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. If you can find one, it would probably cost as much as the inverter. The difference between 110V and 220V inverters is pretty trivial (from a design and manufacturing perspective). A transformer that works well with this kind of input is not trivial.
Sorry, but I think your best bet is use an inverter with 220/240V output.
Old 1200 vector was working
Allen, it seems like you have almost answered your own question here.
You have stated that the first inverter ( 1200 ) was working fine and stopped working but works fine when not plugged into the trailer system. The same problems exist with the other units, which work fine but not when connected to the RV system.
This tells me that you have a problem with power coming into your system. If you have a generator which is connected to the system, this may be where to start looking for problems. You may find a cut off relay on the generator, which is stuck closed.
As you did not mention a generator, I must assume that you do not have one in-line, so let check the inverters, one at a time.
First, please disconnect the inverters from the RV system. Hook the inverter to your battery and make a simple connection to a appliance. ( Light or appliance which is not wired to your RV wiring. ) Note... If your light works while connected to the battery, the inverter works. The same test can be performed to the other inverters.
I believe that you may have a problem with your wiring at or in the RV and the inverters are not at fault.
Keep in mind that the inverters if used together, must be on completely separate output lines. Example, ; Inverter 1 for left side. Inverter 2 for right side.
If you have a OHM meter, you can make a simple test at any outlet in the RV, to check for shorts.
Get back to me if you need further help and I will do what I can to assist you.
Happy Holiday's

Green light on but no ac power out
Probably has an internal fuse that is blown. You will have to disconnect it from dc power and take the cover off and look for a fuse that is blown, should be near the AC outlet or on the circuit board. Could be a glass tube or newer style automotive plug in type. Good luck.
Durite inverter
If the unit doesn't have an external fuse and it doesn't reset itself after an overload, it possibly has an internal (onboard) fuse that needs replaced. Possibly de-soldered and re-soldered...
